Masuda Method works by having Pokemon from breeding Pokemon from different languages. A Japanese and any European-language Pokemon meet the requirements.
What count for requirements:
- Pokemon having different language markers
Additional Notes:
- A Pokemon from America and the UK do not meet the requirements for Masuda Method, as they’re both English, even though they’re from different countries.
- You could use the same game cartridge in different languages to obtain the Pokemon for Masuda Method. The game cartridge’s origin doesn’t matter (exception: games where you can’t change the language).
- It doesn’t matter what game the Pokemon came from, as long as they’re different languages.
- You can use a traded Pokemon from an NPC in the same game for Masuda Method, as long as the NPC’s traded Pokemon is from a different language.
Therefore, as long as your Pokemon are different languages, they will get the boost, regardless of where they’re from.
