Would a hacked foreign Ditto work the same as a legal Ditto for Masuda Method?

I've been trying to hatch a shiny using a foreign Ditto. Unfortunately that Ditto is hacked, and so far I haven't had any luck with hatching a shiny Pokemon. So I was wondering if the Masuda Method still worked even with a hacked foreign Ditto?

Yes,it will still work as a foreign Pokemon, and thus the Masuda Method should still work.

Source: using an action replay code for a Japanese Ditto on Black/White 2. The Pokedex registers it as a Japanese Pokemon. My sister and I have both successfully gotten shinnies in less than 200 eggs with our hacked Dittos
