Should I not use my starter? And if not, what should I replace it with?

Question

For Pokémon sword, I’ve seen a few strategies and smogon that does not include the starter. Should I not use it at all? And if so, what should I replace the starter with? Please include EVs, Nature, Moves, and level as well as what I should replace my starter with. You also may include the DLC mons.

Starters are a free powerhouse, I don't know why you wouldn't use one. But you don't have to use them and teams are perfectly functional without one.

Use Scorbunny forever. Please. Or Dragapult lol. Arcanine does have more coverage tho, but I would still pick Cinderace, but it's a bit opinion based.

There's not much of a point in not using your starter, it's a very solid Pokemon. With that said, there are a few Pokemon of each type that function quite well.

Grass
Tsareena @ anything
Ability: Queenly Majesty
EVs don't matter. Try 252 Spe / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Nature doesn't matter. Jolly is good.
- Power Whip
- Zen Headbutt
- Play Rough
- High Jump Kick

Roserade @ anything
Ability: Poison Point
EVs don't matter. 252 Spe / 252 SpA / 4 HP
Nature doesn't matter. Use Timid if you must.
- Energy Ball
- Dazzling Gleam
- Sludge Bomb
- Shadow Ball

Leafeon @ anything
Ability: Leaf Guard
EVs don't matter. 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Nature doesn't matter, but Jolly is good.
- Leaf Blade
- X-Scissor

- Swords Dance

Fire
Arcanine @ anything
Ability: Intimidate
