Turtonator (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dragon Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Taunt
- Flash Cannon

This set is the one I use in my Showdown UU team. It's simple: it's bulky, has a Life Orb, has STAB moves + another type move, and Taunt because my team needed a taunter.

Lol a turtle
Nice. I like it. If only Taunt could prevent Special Attacks, this set up would be the best hands down. With good IVs as well as good EVs invested into Turtonator, it would be able to survive Earthquakes and other moves allowing it to respond with a heavy Special Attack coverage move of it's own or even switch out. I still like the moveset, nonetheless. If I'm going to use Taunt, I like Shell Trap over Fire Blast; however, if I use Shell Smash instead of Taunt, I prefer Fire Blast or Flamethrower.
i really like it but maybe scale shot over dragon pulse no?
Scale Shot didn't exist at the time of writing and I probably would stick to Dragon Pulse anyways since Scale Shot is a physical move while this set invests in special attack EVs and is intended to be bulky.

Gen 8 NU

Turtonator @ Heavy-Duty Boots / White Herb
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shell Smash
- Fire Blast
- Dragon Pulse
- Flash Cannon

This is the standard Shell Smash set on Smogon. Turtonator has a niche in NU as a niche Shell Smasher. After one Shell Smash to boost your power and speed, you outspeed the standard utility Talonflame set by 2 points. Fire Blast is for fire STAB which targets steel types. Dragon Pulse is your most spammable STAB move, as it doesn't have any drawbacks that Draco Meteor has. Flash Cannon allows you to deal damage against fairy types and is especially useful against Diancie, who resists fire moves and is immune to dragon moves. Heavy Duty Boots is the preferred item so you won't take damage from Stealth Rock, but White Herb is fine if you want to get rid of the defense drops from Shell Smash.

Tortunator the tank (Doubles)
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Bold
Ability: Shell Armour
EVs: 252 HP 126 Defence 126 4 Special Attack
Moveset:
- Shell Trap (STAB and hurts)
- Dragon Pulse (STAB and is great overall)
- Wide Guard/Iron Defense/ Protect (Great moves to have)
- Will O Wisp (Burns the target while lowering attack)

Lol Shell Trap is gonna fail against special attackers.
That is where your other pokemon or dragon pulse comes in handy!!

Turtonator @ Leftovers
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 252 HP / 108 Def / 148 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Dragon Tail / Roar
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Explosion / Shell Trap

Dragon Tail / Roar get rids of Set up sweepers, and Taunt screws Stall teams. Will-O-Wisp burns physical threats like Landorus switching in and Explosion get rids of threats that your team has trouble dealing with, and Shell Trap deals with Physical attackers. This is maybe The Best Bet to threaten physical attackers I Guess, but Bulk Up is also good since most of its weakness are physical.

"Lol Shell Trap is gonna fail against special attackers." - Orange Gaimer. Then, you go and mention it in your moveset, lol.

Shell Smash Sweeper

Turtonator @ White Herb
Ability: Shell Armor
Evs: 252 Spe / 126 SpA / 126 Atk
Naive Nature (+Spe, -SpD)

-Earthquake
-Shell Smash
-Draco Meteor
-Flamethrower

Explanation: A different Turtonator set. White Herb is for restoring the lowered Defense and Special Defense stats from Shell Smash. Earthquake is Coverage against Electric, Rock, Poison, Steel Pokemon you can't cover with Flamethrower, and Other Fire types. Shell Smash Raises Attack, Special Attack and Speed by Two Stages but lowers the Defense and Special Defense stats by One Stage. Works great with White Herb. Draco Meteor is STAB and has great Power but at the Risk of lowering Special Attack by Two Stages. Flamethrower is STAB and has a Chance to Burn the Foe.

I don't think that Turtomator has the potential to be a sweeper. It's speed is way too slow and 2 Stages is not enough for it, it still gets outspeed by many many mons. Trick Room Sweepers or other fast set up/choice sweepers are still able to OHKO it since it is uninvested in bulk.
its pretty good in lower tiers
If you are able to get off TWO Shell Smashes and survive, with a Jolly or Timid (not Naive) natured Turtonator, and stick with ONE - either, SAtk or Atk, but NOT both, then your Turtonator could do some damage as a [potential] sweeper. You do not want to sacrifice any of it's defensive stats. If not, then I'd have to agree with Orange Gaimer.

Turtonator @ Choice Specs
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Charge Beam
- Flash Cannon
- Flamethrower
- Draco Meteor

Just a generic bulky attacker set with coverage. I wish the turtle dragon got Energy Ball, but I guess I have to suffice with Charge Beam. Charge Beam does have its uses, though, as you're basically locked into a 90 percent accuracy Power-Up Punch, except with half a chance to raise Sp. Attack.

Turtonator @ Leftovers / Shell Bell
Ability: Shell Armor
Nature: Quiet (+Sp. Atk, -Speed)
EVs: +252 Sp. Atk, +252 Hp, +4 Sp. Def.

1) Flamethrower
2) Dragon Pulse
3) Solarbeam
4) Charge Beam / Focus Blast / Sunny Day

The idea behind this set is to have a Trick Room AND sun support. Between both STABs and Solarbeam turtonator has really good coverage. This leaves slot 4 can be coverage, but Turtonator's learnable moves aren't that flexible. Flash Cannon, Focus Blast, Charge Beam, and Hidden Power is as varried as it gets. Sunny Day helps set himself up, while Focus Blast Is powerful but inaccurate, and Charge Beam gives a chance to power up. My preference is for Charge Beam, because a +2 Turtonator will hurt anything.

Turtonator has decent physical bulk, so I invevest EVs to increase it's KO'ing strength, and health to take hits on both sides.

Gen VII

Turtonator (M) w/Rocky Helmet
Ability: Shell Armor
Nature: Bold
Evs: 252 Def / 252 SAtk / 6 SDef or HP

Moveset:
Taunt - Taunt the target for 3 turns eliminating status or further set-up moves and hoping that they use physical attacks to do so.
Shell Trap - Turtonator's signature move is extremely powerful, especially if the target physically attacks you prior to utilizing Shell Trap. Shell Trap also comes with a STAB.
Dragon Pulse - Dragon Pulse doesn't have the power Draco Meteor does, but it has the accuracy, doesn't debuff Turtonator's SAtk, takes care of those pesky Dragon types, and also comes with the STAB.
Flash Cannon - Finally Flash Cannon is used as a coverage move dealing with the Rock and Fairy types.

Turtonator

Turtonator
Item: White Herb
Nature: Modest (+SpA, -Atk)
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe/ 4 SpD
-Shell Smash (Let's sweep!)
-Shell Trap (Awesome power but risky because your foe may understand Turtonator will use Shell Trap so that can use Sp. Attack)
-Dragon Pulse (STAB and can deal damage against Dragons)
-Focus Blast (Powerful move)

Turtonator @ Power Herb
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shell Smash
- Dragon Pulse
- Flamethrower
- Solar Beam

A hyper-offensive sweeping set I use in PU which can really catch the opponent off guard.
Shell Smash - To commence the sweeping.
Dragon Pulse - Some decent STAB for dragon types and anything resisting fire.
Flamethrower - Main STAB.
Solar Beam - The secret sauce to this powerhouse turtle. Although the move is one use only, the power herb allows it to skip the wait, devastating any oblivious water/ground/rock types trying to block your sweep. If you're running a sunny day team, even better! You can switch out the power herb for a white herb.

  • Sunny Day

Turtonator @ Life Orb
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Shell Smash
- Heat Crash
- Earthquake

This is a pretty risky moveset but worth trying it. I recommend using this set for UU tier.

Shell smash once (or twice if you have luck), then go for rapid spin to sweep. Rapid spin will not work on some types like rock and steel so heat crash and earthquake are for countering them.
Hope it helps :D

Turtonator @ White Herb
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid (or Modest) Nature
- shell smash
- flamethrower
- dragon pulse
- smog

The white herb is for shell smash and this will be running a fast special sweeper.
(I personally made this for my doubles team but it should still work fine for singles.)

Hope this helped

For future reference, we prefer that you use Showdown-importable format, which I have edited your post to match. Certain details (like max IVs and maxed DMax level) can be implied without explicitly stating them.
Smog is bad, replace it with Scorching Sands or something else

Solar Beam
Shell Smash
Fire Blast or Flame Thrower
Hope I helped :)

Turtonator (M) @Life orb
Ability: Shell Armor
Item: Leftovers
EVs: 252 SpA/ 248 SpD/ 8 Hp
Nature: Modest
-Flamethrower
-Dragon Pulse
-Iron defense
-Shell Smash
This is a Sweeper fire turtle. I chose flamethrower because of PP. Use Iron Defence twice, then Shell Smash And sweep. Nothing except haze users and special attackers can knock you out.

Another Trick Room set. Since it's supposed to be fast in Trick Room, no Shell Trap today. Is this considered a Mixed Set?

Turtonator (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Shell Armor
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Flamethrower / Heat Wave / Fire Blast
- Body Press
- Draco Meteor / Dragon Pulse
- Scorching Sands

Flamethrower is a great Fire STAB, but Heat Wave or even Fire Blast can be used for better power. All of these moves also provide a chance to burn. Body Press uses its high Defense, and is boosted Tera Fighting. Scorching Sands is Special Turtonator's only Ground coverage.
