At the time of this post, Avalugg finds itself to be a good Pokemon in NU, especially when paired with Chansey to form a ChanseyAvalugg (or EggTable) core. This set that I'm posting takes a more offensive approach rather than defensive core since the EggTable cores often use Gligar to help with the core's Fighting weakness while also providing another physical wall. When paired with Gligar, Avalugg having 404 Defense isn't bad, as having Gligar helps relieve Avalugg of having to switch into every physical attack.
Icicle Crash is used for the Ice STAB since not every Pokemon will attack Avalugg to make Avalanche a powerful move. Ice Spinner can be used for a consistent Ice STAB that doesn't have a chance to miss. Earthquake is a nice coverage move for Pokemon such as Salazzle, Copperajah, Klefki, Qwilfish, and Coalossal, Pokemon who resist Avalugg's Ice STAB. Rapid Spin lets Avalugg clear away hazards on its side of the field without clearing hazards from the opponent's side of the field. Recover lets Avalugg have reliable HP recovery so it can stick around to wall physical attackers while having a more offensive presence.
Heavy-Duty Boots prevents Avalugg from being chipped by hazards and works really well with Sturdy. Tera Ghost gives Avalugg a Fighting immunity instead of a Fighting weakness. Tera Poison lets Avalugg resist Fighting moves while having a decent defensive typing. Tera Ground is an option to block a Volt Switch from Pokemon such as Jolteon or Hisuian Electrode.
252 HP EVs are used for bulk. 60 Speed EVs allow Avalugg to outspeed Pokemon such as Palossand, Copperajah, and Coalossal. The rest of the EVs are used in Attack with an Adamant Nature to give Avalugg as much power as possible.
