When I try to connect to showdown the screen says:
Site temporarily unavailable
We apologize for the inconvenience. Please contact the web master/ tech support immediatly to rectify this.
error id: "bad_httpd_conf"

What does this mean? I have always been able to connect before this. I use a fast internet service ( google chrome). It has been like this for nearly a week. I can't even go to the page with the list of servers on it. How do I fix this?

Go ask on Smogon, we don't know
I don't know how to ask smogon. Plus, questions about official pokemon websites are allowed.
But why the heck would you ask here when Smogon has an entire section of their site dedicated to Pokemon Showdown Questions?
http://www.smogon.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=209 - there is an official thread. I think if the replay method isn't working, then go here and see how they can help.

It's just the front page. Go here:

http://www.pokemonshowdown.com/replay/

And then click Play at the top. The rest of the website is still working.

EDIT: hmm, well try this: search Pokemon Showdown in Google, and then instead of clicking the "Pokemon Showdown!" link, click the "Replays" link just below it.

It is still saying the same thing
still the same
I can get on the replays page, but when I click play it shows the same message
Really? Because this method is working for me... not sure how else I can help in this case.

Also, if you do manage to get onto Showdown, all your teams will probably have been wiped. T__T
