If you're in the mood for more non-horror Stephen King, I'd highly suggest The Stand (the full uncut version), which is a post-apocalyptic tale of a plague that ravages the world that will have a very familiar antagonist. Eyes of the Dragon, The Stand, and some of King's other works like Insomnia and 'Salem's Lot are part of the larger Dark Tower mythos.

Also a phenomenal read is 11/22/63, a story about a man who goes back in time to stop the assassination of JFK. Not horror, it's basically a period piece of 1960s small-town America.

Other non-horror King books are: The Green Mile (made into an Oscar nominated film) about a death row prison guard and a prisoner who displays miraculous abilities. Different Seasons is a novella collection that includes the stories that would later be made into the movies The Shawshank Redemption and Stand By Me, as well as the darker but not horror novella Apt Pupil about a former Nazi and the teen who blackmails him. Hearts in Atlantis is another phenomenal non-horror novella collection that connects to the Dark Tower mythos. The Dead Zone is a classic thriller about a man who gains the power to see the future of people by touching them. And there's Under the Dome, which is a thriller about a small town that becomes encased within an unescapable dome.
