I was not specifically thinking about brand new staff roles to sort out the issue, mainly because of the reason you’ve already started, but it would work better than what’s going right now.
New staff can handle the issue but works that really be enough? We have ten active staff members right now, and of course sitting for five hours at a stretch in the chatroom would be really frustrating, especially in the ‘dead’ hours when one can get more productive work done. I’m not really very sure about what happens during the EST and similar time zones, but I guess Ty, Primal and J are active enough at that time? If they are then it’s a really great thing. About the opposite side of the world, when the chat room isn’t much active, I guess the chat can make do with staff popping up at hourly intervals (or maybe more? It really is inactive at that time.).
Someone once suggested that access to talking in the chat room be given to users who have crossed a certain point threshold, like a hundred (debatable) points and so on. It is a useful idea in my opinion and would work, I guess.
I’d also hazard to say that another issue is when the staff shares a, ah, ‘light’ moment, and I guess you know about it? I’ve never liked people screaming love quotes and the sort in the chat. It’s not mature. Wall posts are better, in my opinion.
I asked because of a certain incidence of bullying in the chat. When I saw a user feeling harassed after some other users made fun of their condition, I was angry and sad. It’s just NOT done. They’re a wonderful user, I’ve interacted with them a lot in the past, and I never felt their blindness being an issue in our conversations. It was a moronic act, even if done without the intention of making the user in question feel bad.
And of course, there’s the love talks between two wonderful users, one of which has a mature brother which I guess kept the staff from acting against his behalf. Very touching indeed. Not appropriate in my opinion. Wall posts, again, exist.
I was about to make a Meta post but refrained from doing so, I felt reaching out to a Mod would be better. Let me know of any changes or anything if you can — I’ll be waiting eagerly for it. I’m also looking forward to making the chat a better place, hope it turns out to be smooth.

Apropos the issues regarding the chatroom, are there plans for a new structure of moderation?

Alright, thanks Fizz!
Now I just need to find a way to confine my answer to 12000 characters. I guess I'll move some part of the answer to a comment.

Thanks for the info Fizz! :D
The Wikipedia article seemed very complicated so I'll read it later, but I did get the basics from what you said. However, when I tried using the h3 tag in my "all pokemon games" answer it didn't work in the preview, and I couldn't save the changes cause the new answer broke the character limit. So, does the tag not work in the preview like the insert tag?

OK, I won't. I'm sorry.
It doesn't really matter, but I just wanna say that I wasn't teasing her because she was blind. I mean, I knew that she was blind, but I wasn't thinking "oh she's blind I should make fun of her for it" or anything. I just found quite a few of her misspellings funny. True, she misspells things more often because... well, she's blind, but it was the misspellings I found amusing, not the fact that she was blind.
Not exactly a good explanation, but I tried.

Based on what I can see, you give a certain text an "id" and then hyperlink a different text to that "id" instead of an actual link.

Hey Fizz, I noticed some sort of new h3 markdown formatting on the "How to write a good quality question" post. Since there isn't anything about that on the meta post explaining formatting, can you explain how its used? I'd love to use it to create an Index in my all pokémon games answer. The only other way to hyperlink to something in an answer is to use headlines, but that can't be used for non-headline text.
Also, are there any limitations to this method?
