I am confused about confusion!

Question

Right Ho...

1) say i use dragon dance (with dragonite) and the opponent used confuse ray, will the attack boost do more confusion damage than without dragon dance?

2) are there different stages of confusion? with swagger confusion, my pokemon hit themselves a LOT more than from a confuse ray. Is this just a line of bad luck?

3) what chance do moves such as hurricane have of confusing the foe?

   Water Pulse has a 20% chance of confusing
   Chatter has a 1/11/31% chance of confusing
   Dynamicpunch has a 100% chance of confusion, butonly a 50% chance of actually hitting
   Confusion has a 10% chance of confusing
   Dizzy Punch has a 20% chance of confusing
   Psybeam has a 10% chance of confusing
   Signal Beam has a 10% chance of confusing
