Maxing out evs and almost maxing out another stat?

Ok do I know you can only max our no more then two stats. If you maxed out two stats, can you almost max our another stat? Example: I maxed out attack and defense. Can I have my hp to be 379/380 since it isn't maxed out?

No, you have 508 stats. If you max out (say) Attack and Speed (being 252 each, 504 total), you have 4 stats left. So that means you can have 4 Defence.

Thats a completed pokemon, so you cannot max out another stat (or be close to maxing out another stat). "Thats all you get, jerks!"-Bender, the shiny-butt robot. XD
