Is there a way to tell if your Pokemon's EVs are maxed out in Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver?

Blackthorn City has a person that gives you a Ribbon for maxing out EVs.

The person will tell you if your Pokemon has all 510 EVs. But the person doesn't tell you if you have 255 EVs in one stat.

If you look at the title, this is for HG/SS. It was 255 until it was changed to 252 in X and Y.
