Pokemon silver breeding help please.

Question

I am breeding eevees in my silver version on game boy colour & I have no idea if eggs are ever going to appear because i have been on my bike for 10 min. riding up & down goldenrod city & constantly checking to see if the egg is there. i put an eevee & a ditto so it should work. can someone tell me what ill see when there is an egg?

There should be an egg. The egg will result in an eevee lvl 5

But do i ask the day care people for it or do i talk to the pokemon in the little yard outside the daycare

I just checked & there is no one outside of the daycare.
