Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Rock Polish

- Hidden Power [Grass] / Hidden Power [Ice]

Rock Polish allow Camerupt to outspeed to sweep.
Fire Blast is very good STAB.
Earth Power is also STAB, and compliments Fire Blast nicely.

Role: Tank

Vesuvius (Camerupt) @ Cameruptite
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 200 HP / 136 Def / 172 SpD
Calm Nature
- Flamethrower
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock / Yawn / Ancient Power
- Toxic

---Explanation---

After the ban of Camerupt and its mega-stone in NU, it moved to greener pastures in RU. The Mega-Stone that OR / AS gave to Camerupt was a blessing and gave it very solid defenses of 75 / 100 / 105. Because of this and its unique typing, Camerupt can be used effectively as a Tank for troublesome Grass-types, Electric-types, and Steel-types.

EVs and Nature are meant to give Camerupt good walling capabilities and deal with certain threats, such as M-Audino and Kabutops.

Flamethrower gets STAB and is more reliable than lower-accuracy moves, such as Fire Blast, yet still have higher-power than other moves like Lava Plume.

Earth Power compliments Flamethrower very well. It deals with Pokemon that resist Fire-type moves, such as Rhypherior.

Stealth Rock is a good entry-hazard and should be used unless if you already have a SR setter. In this case, Yawn would be more effective and forces switches if used properly. Ancient Power is another move that can be used to deal with annoying Flying-types, such as Fletchinder.

Toxic is a good Status-move that cripples any walls, such as Alomomola.

Other Options

A wall-breaking set can be done. For example, a good wall-breaking set would have the EVs: 252 HP / 252 Sp. Atk / 4 Def and the moves: Fire Blast, Earth Power, Ancient Power / Hidden Power [Grass] , Will-O-Wisp.

Rock Polish or Growth can be used on a sweeper-set, but Rock Polish still isn't good enough to raise its speed, while Growth doesn't give much of a boost (only one stage) and M-Camerupt is too slow to make any good use of it.

Gen 6-7 RU / National Dex UU

Camerupt-Mega @ Cameruptite
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 172 HP / 252 SpA / 84 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Earth Power
- Flamethrower / Fire Blast
- Substitute
- Will-O-Wisp / Toxic

Earth Power is STAB that gets boosted by Sheer Force. Flamethrower is also a STAB move that gets boosted by Sheer Force. Fire Blast can be used instead for more power, but with slightly less accuracy. Substitute is for scouting. Will-O-Wisp gives cripples physical sweepers / wallbreakers by halving their attack stat. Toxic can be used instead to put a timer on opposing Pokemon.

Camerupt (F) @ Cameruptite
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 HP / 6 Atk / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Rock Slide
- Hidden Power [Grass] / Flash Cannon

Fire Blast and Earth Power are STAB. Rock Slide gets good coverage with the first two moves. HP Grass gives amazing coverage, while Flash Cannon hits Fairy-types for Super Effective damage.

I actually like this, but Solid Rock needs to be taken advantage of, since the turn you Mega Evolve you get Solid Rock that turn only. Try using Rock Polish instead of Rock Slide, you don't need Rock Slide

National Dex Monotype (Ground)

Camerupt @ Cameruptite
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 HP / 132 SpA / 124 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Earth Power
- Fire Blast / Flamethrower
- Ancient Power
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Mega Camerupt's niche on Ground-type teams in National Dex Monotype is being a special wallbreaker that is able to deal with Pokemon like Slowbro, Celesteela, and Ferrothorn, Pokemon who are generally annoying for Ground-type teams. Camerupt's Fire/Ground typing is useful against Pokemon like Volcarona, Weavile, and Rillaboom to be able to check them.

Earth Power is used for ground STAB which gets boosted by Sheer Force, Mega Camerupt's ability upon evolving. Fire Blast is a powerful fire move that's boosted by Sheer Force. Flamethrower can be used instead if you don't want to deal with Fire Blast's 85% accuracy. Ancient Power is used as coverage against Pokemon like Mega Charizard-Y and Volcarona, and also gets boosted by Sheer Force. Hidden Power Ice is useful to deal super effective damage to Pokemon like Gliscor, Dragonite, and Garchomp trying to switch in.

252 HP EVs is to help with bulk. 124 Speed EVs is used to be able to outspeed Toxapex. The rest of the EVs are dumped into Special Attack to make Mega Camerupt's attacks hit harder.

Camerupt @ Cameruptite
Ability: Anger Point
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Flame Charge
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

-Flame Charge (this is fairly low power but with the monstrous Atk boost he gets from anger point +STAB +sheer force, it's worth it)

This moveset needs to be used in double battles with a Pokemon that has frost breath, or through some other means has 100% crit rate (such as stick holding Farfetch'd with slash). On the first turn activate anger point. You'll likely need to rest as this will do a fairly large amount of damage. On the second turn mega evolve and sleep talk until he wakes up. Trick room support is another thing to consider for this set, as it makes him into a truly terrifying sweeper. Feedback is very welcome.

Use Smeargle. A Frost Breath from this thing deals almost no damage, and it can also be used for general utility. Also, you should get Rock Slide so a flying type doesn't make it useless.

- Flamethrower / Fire Blast
- Flash Cannon
- Rock Polish

Gen 7 ZU

Camerupt @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe or 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest / Mild Nature
- Rock Polish
- Earth Power
- Flamethrower / Fire Blast
- Flash Cannon / Stone Edge

You'll want dual screens to help you set up. Rock Polish is to boost your speed. When you get hit by a super effective hit, Weakness Policy can activate, giving your special attack a boost. Earth Power is STAB. Flamethrower is STAB. Fire Blast can be used instead of Flamethrower. Flash Cannon is for coverage. Stone Edge can be used instead to hit flying types like Swanna and Altaria super effectively.

VGC 2018 Set

Camerupt @ Cameruptite
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 0 Spe
- Eruption / Heat Wave
- Rock Slide
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Quite literally the most hit or miss Pokemon, of like all time. Eruption is for nuclear stab, heat wave is more consistent. Rock slide is good coverage, Earth power is sheer force boosted stab and Hidden power ice is amazing coverage.
Even with Sheer force, Camerupt would have to be at 82.34% health to have heat wave overtake it in damage.
