Does Substitute stay up when you switch out and the opponent uses Pursuit?

So pretty much, if I have a Substitute up, I switch out and the foe uses Pursuit, will the Substitute take the Pursuit?

Answer 1

Yes, because Pursuit hits before you switch so Substitute would take the damage then you would switch. However Substitute would not be there for the Pokemon you switched to unless you used Baton pass(as you probably already know).
