Does Synchronize affect Gift Pokemon?

For example, I have a Timid Synchronize Espeon and get a Charmander. Will it have 50% chance of being Timid?

It depends what type of gift. Mystery gifts have no effect. But in-game gifts like Bebe's Eevee in 4th gen will be affected.
