Counter and mirror coat damage?

Counter and mirror coat inflict double the damage taken, but as we know that mirror coat has no effect against dark-type and counter has no effect against ghost-type. but how about counter hit dark-type or mirror coat hit ghost-type? does the damage will be 4x or 2x as usuall?

Mirror coat and counter don't take into account weaknesses and resistances. They do take into account immunities however, counter won't work against ghosts or mirror coat on dark types. It's just twice the number of Hit points you take. and for the record, counter DOES work against dark types, and mirror coat DOES work against ghosts,.
