My Tinkatuff is not evolving in Pokémon scarlet is that normal?

I caught a wild Tinkatuff at level 48 and it wasn’t evolving, but should evolve at level 38 but since it was at level 48 shouldn’t it be Tinkaton already

Wild Pokemon can be found at higher levels than they usually evolve.

Have you even tried levelling up Tinkauff?

Throughout Pokemon, there are plenty of examples of Pokemon being able to be caught past the level that they need to evolve. All you need to do is level up Tinkatuff a single time, and it should evolve into Tinkaton.
