PokéBase - Pokémon Q&A

Pokemon Box is the most expensive GameCube game because it was only available outside of Japan for a brief period in the 2000s. There are conflicting statements on how many NTSC-U/C and PAL copies were produced: I've heard anywhere between less than 1,000 to over 10,000.

Are there any trustworthy records on non-Japanese copies of Pokemon Box? And if not, what is the general estimate from reputable sources?

Thanks in advance.

> Pokémon Box : Ruby & Sapphire managed to sell an overall total of around 0.28 million copies, which is still quite great for such a rare game.

VG Chartz and steamdb.info are probably the best unofficial game sales estimators, but I feel like neither of them are good enough to answer this question. What if the official sales statistics were just never released?
@MonkeyBusiness I'm slightly leery of that link given its poor grammar and zero backing on where it got that number from. It falls significantly higher than most other estimates I've heard, but it's helpful to reinforce that copies were in the thousands at a maximum. Thanks!

@sumwun I would accept an estimated answer as "official sales data were never released, but aggregating reports from websites 1, 2, and 3 shows that copies sold were probably between x and y".
