Gen 9 Monotype Wallbreaker (Electric)

Pawmot @ Clear Amulet
Ability: Iron Fist
Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Thunder Punch / Volt Switch / Mach Punch
- Ice Punch
- Seed Bomb / Revival Blessing

With Zeraora not being in Gen 9, Pawmot takes the role as the fast physical wallbreaker for Electric teams in Monotype. Close Combat is used for the Fighting STAB since it is Pawmot's most powerful Fighting STAB. Thunder Punch is used for the Electric STAB since it gets boosted by Iron Fist, the Ability used on this set. Ice Punch provides useful coverage against Ground such as the Landorus forms, Sandy Shocks, Garchomp, and Clodsire. Ice Punch also hits Pokemon such as Dragapult, Zapdos, and Thundurus-Therian super effectively, as well as giving Pawmot an elemental punch version of the BoltBeam combo. Seed Bomb lets Pawmot hit the Water/Ground types Gastrodon and Quagsire super effectively, which allows Pawmot to screw up Ground teams. Revival Blessing can be used over Seed Bomb should you want to revive a teammate such as Regieleki and Iron Hands. Volt Switch can be used over Thunder Punch to allow Pawmot to switch out. Mach Punch can be used instead for a priority Fighting STAB boosted by Iron Fist that allows Pawmot to pick off weakened Pokemon that outspeed Pawmot.

Reasoning for the item Clear Amulet
The set uses Clear Amulet for the item. For those wondering why I'm using it over another item like Life Orb or Expert Belt to an extent, it's because of its ability to prevent the holder's stats from being lowered. This makes it useful vs Landorus-Therian, as Clear Amulet allows Pawmot to be unphased by Intimidate, allowing you to cleanly OHKO it. Yes, Pawmot outspeeds Landorus-Therian, but should you use Thunder Punch on the turn Landorus-Therian switches in due to a misprediction from you or a good prediction from your opponent and you don't have Clear Amulet, depending on wheter you hold a Life Orb or an Expert Belt, you would have to depend on a high damage roll, or you end up having to 2HKO instead, as shown in these calcs:

-1 252 Atk Life Orb Iron Fist Pawmot Ice Punch vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Landorus-Therian: 343-406 (89.7 - 106.2%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO

-1 252 Atk Expert Belt Iron Fist Pawmot Ice Punch vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Landorus-Therian: 317-374 (82.9 - 97.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

With Clear Amulet, should you mess up on the prediction of Landours-Therian coming in, you can cleanly OHKO it since Clear Amulet prevent Intimidate from working vs Pawmot.

252 Atk Iron Fist Pawmot Ice Punch vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Landorus-Therian: 392-464 (102.6 - 121.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

While Choice Band exists, this set would rather not be locked into one move, as it would make this set very prediction reliant.

Pawmot @ Leppa Berry
Ability: Volt Absorb
Tera Type: Electric / Ice
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Double Shock
- Revival Blessing
- Mach Punch / Ice Punch

This thing's only main niche is Revival Blessing. Leppa Berry gives you two uses of Revival Blessing instead of only one. Volt Absorb allows you to switch into an Electric move and recover, but Natural Cure or Iron Fist can be used to remove status and boost Mach Punch / Ice Punch's power. Tera Electric lets you spam Double Shock without losing your Electric Type. Tera Ice is only to be used if using Ice Punch, and in that case it makes your BoltBeam combo stronger. Close Combat is a nuke, but you 99% of the time have to switch out in order not to be killed. Double Shock is a powerful nuke, however you cannot spam it without ElecTera. Revival Blessing is overpowered, letting you revive a Pokemon, and with Leppa Berry, you can revive two. Mach Punch lets you revenge kill mons, and Ice Punch provides coverage against Dragons.

Pawmot @ Punching Glove
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Nature: Jolly
Tera Type: Fighting
- Thunder Punch
- Mach Punch/Close Combat
- Ice Punch
- Fire Punch/Bulk Up

Thunder Punch is Electric STAB. Fighting STAB can either be Mach Punch for Priority or Close Combat to hit harder. Ice Punch gives BoltBeam Coverage. Last slot can either be Fire Punch for additional Coverage or Bulk Up to boost. Punching Glove stacks with Iron Fist and lets all attacks but Close Combat not make Contact. Tera Type of Fighting is chosen more for Mach Punch builds, but feel free to suggest or use others.

Rest + 3 Attacks

Pawmot @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Rest
- Double Shock
- Ice Punch
- Close Combat

This Pawmot set fires off strong attacks and keeps itself healthy with Rest. Life Orb gives Pawmot extra firepower to all of its moves. Natural Cure pairs well with Rest, allowing it to heal up and switch out, coming back into the battle later awake and healed up. It can also help get rid of burns. Tera Electric allows Pawmot to spam Double Shock, which is an extremely powerful option. Rest as mentioned before heals Pawmot, but be extra careful when choosing the moment to use it, as committing to Rest while having one or more defense drops from Close Combat can leave Pawmot wide open for a KO. Double Shock's 120 base power makes it extremely useful, and could potentially serve defensive utility while not Tera'd, getting rid of a Ground weakness. Ice Punch is used for Ground coverage and provides the rest of the BoltBeam core. Close Combat is extremely strong Fighting STAB.

Scarf Pawmot

Gen 9 RU

Pawmot @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Iron Fist
Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Double Shock
- Close Combat
- Mach Punch / Revival Blessing
- Ice Punch / Seed Bomb / Revival Blessing

Scarf Pawmot for Gen 9 RU. Double Shock is an extremely powerful STAB that is reusable with Tera Electric. Close Combat is also STAB. Mach Punch makes Pawmot a potent revenge killer, especially because the move is boosted by Iron Fist. Ice Punch is also boosted by Iron Fist and provides coverage against Mons like Torterra and Toedscruel. Seed Bomb allows you to hit Quagsire, who would otherwise Curse setup on you. Revival Blessing allows you to revive a valuable teammate you may have lost.

I haven't seen a VGC moveset posted yet so here we go!
Pawmot is often overshadowed by Iron Hands, but don't be disappointed! Pawmot has traits that make it unique!

VGC Regulation G
Pawmot @ Focus Sash
Ability: Volt Absorb
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe OR 68 HP / 76 Atk / 108 Def / 4 Sp Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Revival Blessing
- Nuzzle/ Protect
- Close Combat

Role - Support Pokemon
Pawmot's main niche involves outspeeding all of the common Fake Out users, and most importantly, being able to revive a Pokemon. This Pawmot set is aiming to be a support Pokemon, that can enable its teammates with Fake Out and bring back your powerful restricted Pokemon after you lose it. Pawmot is also one of the few Pokemon who is able to completely stone wall Miraidon sets lacking Dazzling Gleam with the combo of Tera Fairy and Volt Absorb.

Focus Sash aids Pawmot in being able to more reliably get off a Revival Blessing. For anyone worried about Focus Sash being ignored by Urshifu-Rapid-Strike, here is where the alternative spread comes in.
68 HP / 108 Def / 252+ Atk Urshifu-Rapid-Strike Surging Strikes (3 hits) vs. 68 HP / 108 Def Pawmot on a critical hit: 126-153 (81.8 - 99.3%) -- approx. 2HKO.
This is if you wish to live regular Surging Strikes from Urshifu at the cost of losing some damage output. However, please keep in mind that this does not survive Sword of Ruin boosted Surging Strikes, Mystic Water boosted Surging Strikes, Rain Boosted Surging Strikes or Tera Water boosted Surging Strikes. This is why I did not put this as the main spread. Pawmot is not bulky enough to survive these, and the ones it can you end up sacrificing your speed, which is not worth it.

Fake Out is a disrupting tool, which prevents one of your opponents Pokemon from moving. This is quite valuable as Fake Out can enable you to set up your restricted Pokemon, such as Nasty Plot on Calyrex-S or Swords Dance on Zacian and Rayquaza, or go for potential damage.

Revival Blessing is one of the main reasons to use Pawmot over Iron Hands being able to revive an already fainted Pokemon. This is absolutely game changing in a single restricted format where teams are built around enabling your restricted Pokemon. Bringing back your teams most powerful Pokemon can put your opponent on the back foot, especially if their restricted has already been taken out.

Nuzzle functions as a reliable form of speed control and makes opponents unable to move 25% of the time as a bonus!

Protect is also a good option here, as if your team already has reliable speed control, you can use Protect as a tool to get in a better position to use Revival blessing. It is also quite literally the most important move in the history of VGC.

Both Protect and Nuzzle are good for different reasons. You can pick which one you prefer.

Close Combat is my attacking move of choice. This works as a STAB move, so Pawmot is still able to deal some damage if needed. I would not recommend removing Close Combat. If you do, Pawmot is completely unable to deal any decent damage of any form, which you need if you want to 1 v 1 Miraidon.
Now start blasting VGC with this GIANT PIKACHU!!!

What if they double up on Pawmot
@Ferarri I will be 100% honest, Pawmot will almost always die if it has to take 2 neutral attacks without damage control. I recommend you have another form of speed control such as tailwind on your team to insure Pawmot goes before every other Pokemon on the field. Double ups like fake out + an attack which are very common with Incineroar and Rillaboom being everywhere, can be countered by running Covert Cloak. . Pawmot speed tier is decent compared to a lot of common Pokemon in the meta right now fortunately so a double up is likely not going to be as big of a problem as you might think it would be, but keep it in mind as well as priority moves. I hope this answers your question!
I get it now
