I’m looking for an item that can inflict a status condition on the enemy so that I can use moves like hex with more damage.

There are the orb like the Toxic and Flame Orb, but you need to use trick to give them to the enemy. You can use those orbs to boost Facades moves power if you let inflict a status condition on you.

Please excuse my absence of "proper format", because I'm relatively inexperienced about writing answers.

Items which inflict status conditions:

Flame Orb : Tries to burn holder at the end of each turn.

Toxic Orb: Tries to badly posion holder at the end of each turn.

King's Rock: Has a 10% chance to cause flinching when the holder's move damages the enemy, provided it has no initial flinch chance.

No item explicitly deals a status condition to the enemy, you have to improvise and think of new tactics.

Using item swap moves like Trick and Switcheroo.

Or...using the move fling. With new items released every generation, this move is getting more and more confusing.

Fling makes the user throws its held item at the enemy. Power depends on item.

I have collected info from this website finding it to be reliable.

Here's the list of items inflicting status conditions and their base power in brackets.

Flame Orb(30): Burns the target

King's Rock(30): Causes the target to flinch

Light Ball(30): Paralyzes the target

Poison Barb(70): Poisons the target

Razor Fang(30): Causes the target to flinch

Toxic Orb(30) : Badly poisons the target

While status inflicting moves are much prefered to these, you can use these if you have some strategies!
