How exactly do stat changes work in LA?

I hope this isn’t a dumb question, but I can’t figure it out. They wear off, and there doesn’t seem to be more than one stage. It looks like the offences and the defences are clumped together. How exactly do the stat changes in LA work?

They are more than one stage, however the icon for a boosted or depleted stat remains the same no matter what the stage.

Offense and defense are not clumped together, however Physical boosts and special boosts are clumped together, which is why Calm Mind boosts every stat but speed, swords dance boosts special attack, and nasty plot boosts physical attack

They made it so moves like calm mind and bulk up have the same effect.
You can only raise or lower your stats by one stage in Legends Arceus, so use moves like bulk up or calm mind, because they are better than the other boosting moves.
(attack and defense raises and lowers affect both regular and special stats)
