Is Draco Meteor or Dragon Pulse better for Noivern?

Question

He's currently running Boomburst, Draco Meteor, Hurricane and U-turn, with the Ability Infiltrator. I'm doing some experimenting with my team at the Battle Maison.

Generally, Draco Meteor is better for the huge damage. Also, Noivern can pivot out with U-turn to eliminate the stat drop.

It also depends on the held item in some instances.
So, what Generation and Held item?

Draco. Dragon pulse is barely used since it was nerfed and you absolutely need that power. In all of Noivern's smogon analysis page, all of them recommend draco

When running U-Turn, Draco maybe better as you can just pivot out after the SpA drops.
And also, if you’d explain the format etc, it’d be easier to answer...

Draco Meteor is much better. Draco Meteor can have destructive power with choice specs. Here are some calcs on why Draco Meteor is really good.

252 SpA Noivern Dragon Pulse vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Absol: 171-202 (63 - 74.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 SpA Noivern Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Absol: 261-307 (96.3 - 113.2%) -- 75% chance to OHKO

Look at the damage disparity. Clearly, Draco Meteor is the better choice any day.

Choice Specs shouldn't be used over Boots though

*0.5 special attack.
So it would still 4hko shuckle.
I'd say give a better example

Yeah, something that turns a 2HKO from Dragon Pulse to an OHKO from Draco Meteor.

Ok, I'll do that. Also, yes, boots are usually better however, if you want sheer power, use that.

WHy is absol calc relevant?

Well, it is a frailer Pokemon that gets almost ohkoed by Draco Meteor and gets 2 hit ko'd by dragon pulse. (Plus it's my favorite pokemon)
