Would Masuda Method take effect with a foreign Ditto from a different file on my Switch?

A couple weeks ago, I started another file of Pokémon Sword but set it to Spanish. The reason I wanted to do this was because I wanted to get a Spanish Ditto and people on Pokémon HOME never traded with me. But what I want to know is if the Masuda Method would still work if I transferred this Ditto on my alt account to my regular one on the same Switch through Pokémon HOME.
