Can I add a Pokemon to 'caught' category using QR scan or only to 'seen' in Pokemon Sun/Moon gen7?

If I want to actually 'catch' it in the pokedex does QR scan help?
When I scan a Blissey using QR scan it only adds it to my 'seen' list

Only the seen category. It would be too op otherwise lol
Source:experience(I did a lot of qr scanning and scanned every one in the dex)
