Share your best in-game teams for Pokemon Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! on this thread! Teams should be aimed toward making casual runs of the game efficient, enjoyable and hassle-free.

Please follow these guidelines regarding detail in your post:

  1. For every Pokemon on the team, give recommended moves for use throughout the playthrough. Ideally, comment on more than just the four moves you'll finish with post-game.
  2. Provide explanation and detail. Justify your Pokemon and moveset choices; possible discussion points include ease-of-use, team synergy, and coverage for key battles.

Please also follow these guidelines regarding the contents of your team:

  1. If you recommend a Pokemon that is restricted by version exclusivity, trade evolution or events, please mention alternatives for people who cannot get the Pokemon. Do the same if you recommend moves, etc. that are only available by breeding or grinding.
  2. There are some unspoken rules of in-game teams, such as to keep the starter on the team and avoid legendaries. It's kind to give other options if you break these rules.
  3. Do not recommend Pokemon, moves, etc. that are only available through glitches and cheats. Please also avoid Pokemon etc. that are only available through trade or transfer.
  4. Original content only. You may use ideas you found elsewhere, but do not steal written content.

Submit your team as an answer, not a comment. To keep things tidy, we will remove any teams posted as comments in this thread. If you want to update your post, use the 'edit' button.

Please be sparing with images and formatting.

Team Preview:

(Pre-Elite Four - even though most of the post-game is new battles)

Eevee

  • Glitzy Glow (Celadon City Tutor)
  • Baddy Bad (Celadon City Tutor)
  • Sappy Seed / Sparkly Swirl (Both from Fuchsia City Tutor)
  • Buzzy Buzz / Sizzly Slide (Both from Cerulean City Tutor)

Just like the Partner Pikachu, Eevee gets a stat buff, however, while I have only played Let's Go Pikachu so I might not be correct, but Eevee's stat buffs seem a bit worse to me. Eevee is very well-rounded, but doesn't shine in any particular stat, which I think is bad, and those base stats still aren't very good. It can't hit terribly hard, can't take hits very well and is often out-sped, so I decided to push towards the more supportive side with their moveset. Glitzy Glow not only covers his Fighting weakness, but sets up a free Light Screen, Baddy Bad sets up a free Reflect, Sappy Seed sets up a free Leech Seed while Sparkly Swirl is a free Heal Bell, and Buzzy Buzz and Sizzly Slide gives out a free Paralysis and Burn respectively, which can help with Eevee's mediocre stats. You can really use any of the Tutor Moves, but I feel as if they'd work the best.

Victreebel

  • Power Whip (Level 54)
  • Poison Jab (Level 36 as Weepinbell/Level 26 as Bellsprout)
  • Leech Life (Move Reminder)
  • Sleep Powder (Level 16)

Just like how I used the Oddish-line for my Let's Go Pikachu team, I believe Bellsprout is likely the best Grass-type available. I know you can Bulbasaur in Viridian Forest, but doing so can be a pain, and the Gift Bulbasaur is good becuase of it's IVs, but I'm using Victreebel so... whatever. Power Whip is a very solid Grass STAB, and 85% accuracy isn't too bad for 120BP, Poison Jab is a solid Poison STAB, Leech Life covers his Psychic weakness and helps him stay healthy, and Sleep Powder helps when crippling teams or 'Battle-to-Catch' Pokémon.

Gyarados

  • Waterfall (Level 31)
  • Earthquake (TM41 - Viridian City from Gym Leader)
  • Outrage (Level 41)
  • Crunch (Level 36)

While Gyarados doesn't have access to Intimidate, he is still an extremely useful Pokémon, capable of sweeping many teams due to a lot of coverage and great stats. He can dish it out, out-swim (?) a lot and take a hit well. And evolving Magikarp isn't even too hard, as he'll level up as long as he's in your party, so you'll likely have one by Lavender Town, so you can spam Bite on all of the Gastly's and Haunter's. Waterfall is a great STAB move and covers his Rock weakness, Earthquake covers both his weaknesses and is overall an amazing move, Outrage simply deals massive damage, just be wary of the confusion side-affect, and Crunch just helps with Psychic-types)

Dugtrio

  • Earthquake (Level 29 for Diglett/Level 35 for Dugtrio)
  • Rock Slide (TM22 - Pokémon Mansion)
  • Sucker Punch (Level 25)
  • Stealth Rock (TM56 - Victory Road) / Slash (Level 21)

While I do prefer Sandslash over Dugtrio, he is unfortunately unavailable in Let's Go Eevee, however Dugtrio is still a great option. They have great Attack and Speed, and while they have a fairly lacking movepool, it is enough. Earthquake is an amazing STAB, especially paired with their stats, Rock Slide covers their Ice weakness and let's them hit Flying-types, Sucker Punch has priority, and also allows you to hit Ghost and Psychic types, Stealth Rock allows them to be a great lead and helps massively with Lance, and Slash is just for filler is you don't want Stealth Rock.

(credits to iametrine on Deviantart for the animated Alola-Ninetales sprite)
Ninetales / Alolan-Ninetales

Kantonian:

  • Flamethrower (Level 24)
  • Hypnosis (Move Reminder) / Will-o-Wisp (TM11 - Viridian City, requires Chop Down)
  • Dark Pulse (TM20 - Rocket Hideout)
  • Nasty Plot (Move Reminder) / Calm Mind (TM33 - Saffron City from Sabrina)

Alolan:

  • Ice Beam (Level 24)
  • Dazzling Gleam (Level 21)
  • Hypnosis (Move Reminder)
  • Nasty Plot (Move Reminder) / Calm Mind (TM33 - Saffron City from Sabrina)

I really couldn't decide between Ninetales and Alolan-Ninetales, as they both have their merits. K-Ninetales comes earlier and is better defensively with Will-o-Wisp as well as less weaknesses, whereas A-Ninetales is slightly faster (109 Base Speed compared to 100) and will level up faster since it is obtained in a trade (Celadon City Pokémon Center - you'll need a K-Vulpix). Both come in time for Erika and get amazing STABs quickly, so it is basically down to preference. Flamethrower is STAB (K), as are Ice Beam (A) and Dazzling Gleam (A), Hypnosis (K/A) and Will-o-Wisp (K) can cripple teams, Dark Pulse (K) just gives them some coverage, and Nasty Plot (K/A) and Calm Mind (K/A) can set up for potential sweeps.

Pinsir

  • X-Scissor (Level 20)
  • Earthquake (TM41 - Viridian City gift from Gym Leader)
  • Rock Slide (TM22 - Pokémon Mansion)
  • Bulk Up (TM30 - Celadon Department Store) / Swords Dance (Level 32)

Pinsir is easily the best Bug-type available in Let's Go Eevee. He has amazing Attack and Defence, pretty solid Speed, a surprisingly diverse movepool, and comes ready for Sabrina is you decide to head towards Fuchsia City first. If Pinsir was available in Let's Go Pikachu, I would've definitely picked him up. And while I don't have Mega Evolutions on the team, as all of the Mega Stones (aside from the Kanto Starter's) are all post-game, Mega Pinsir is a monster. X-Scissor is a good STAB move, Earthquake covers his Rock and Fire weaknesses, Rock Slide covers his Flying weakness, and Bulk Up and Swords Dance allow him to set up to be disgustingly powerful.

I know this is old but do you have any recommended improvements for the post-game?

I hope this team will be as fun to play as it was for me. Even if Starmie was the last member I caught, I used it the most.

This is a team for Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu

  1. Pikachu: Thunderbolt, Thunder, Double Kick, Splishy Splash
Pikachu is your starter overall you really should use him

  2. Charizard: Flamethrower, Fly, Dragon Pulse, Earthquake
a very good choice for this game since it has the flying and fire type.
Accessible early on in the game

  3. Vileplume: Mega Drain, Moonblast, Toxic, Sludge Bomb
Accessible early on in the game and is very help full late game and early game

  4. Omastar (Lord Helix): Scald, Ice Beam, Rock Slide, Hydro Pump
Not Accessible early on but it is very help full late game since the last two gyms are Fire and Ground
Water Types are not really needed early on but can be help full. You can use squirtle early on before getting him. and if you choose to use Blastoise the moveset would be Scald, Ice Beam, Dragon Pulse, Flash Cannon

  5. Kadabra/Alakazam: Psychic, Shadow Ball, Dazzling Gleam, Tri Attack
Psychic type is always strong in a Pokemon game. If cant trade than kadabra is also fine

  6. Persian: Slash, Play Rough, Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt
Persian is another Pokemon you can get early on by just catching 5 growlithes.
    Overall a strong Pokemon.

Finally a team!
You might want to add pictures for visual but you don't have to :P
Also might want to make the moves each mon has more readable by putting them on separate lines
Nice, but thunderbolt and thunder on a Pikachu?
Hydro pump and scald on Omastar?
The rest is fine
Would pay day be okay instead of shadowball on the Persian? Also maybe replace Charizard’s earthquake with thunder punch for water type opponents.

This Team is for Let's Go Pikachu!
Team Preview:

Pikachu

  • Thunderbolt (Level 21)
  • Splishy Splash (Fushcia City Move Tutor)
  • Floaty Fall (Celadon City Move Tutor)
  • Thunder Punch (TM23 - Saffron City)

Luckily, Partner Pikachu has pretty good stats compared to a normal Pikachu, including 80 Attack, 75 Special Attack and a whopping 120 Speed, making it surprisingly useful, and easily the best Electric-type available in Let's Go Pikachu. Thunderbolt is your main STAB move, Splishy Splash allows Pika to cover his Ground-type weakness, Floaty Fall is just a bit more coverage, and Thunder Punch allows you to attack from both sides of the attacking spectrum, to deal more damage in some situations (e.g. You would use Thunderbolt on Cloyster, but you would use Thunder Punch on Tentacruel).

Vileplume

  • Petal Dance (Level 54 as Vileplume)
  • Mega Drain (Level 22 as Oddish/Level 27 as Gloom)
  • Sludge Bomb (TM52 - Pokémon Mansion)
  • Moonblast (Level 30 as Oddish/Level 45 as Gloom) / Dazzling Gleam (TM32 - Route 12) / Sleep Powder (Level 14)

While the Gift Bulbasaur is probably better than Vileplume, I tend to get attached to my Pokémon, so I didn't really want to give up my Oddish. Oddish does great against Brock and Misty and gets pretty good moves throughout her life, so it stays super useful throughout the game. Petal dance is your main Grass STAB, dealing loads of damage, but confusing her after, so be careful, Mega Drain got buffed up to 75BP (mainly so Giga Drain wasn't necessary) so Vileplume has a way to heal, Sludge Bomb is your main Poison STAB and Moonblast/ Dazzling Gleam is for more coverage, while Sleep Powder is to cripple other teams. If you want Moonblast, I would recommend waiting until Level 30 to evolve Oddish, but if you can't wait, Dazzling Gleam will suffice (Vileplume can't learn Moonblast, only Oddish and Gloom can).

Sandslash

  • Earthquake (Level 52/TM41 - Gift from Giovanni in Viridian City)
  • X-Scissor (TM24 - Route 12)
  • Rock Slide (TM22 - Pokémon Mansion)
  • Swords Dance (Level 36)

Sandslash may not be option for a Ground-type compared to some others, but he is the earliest available, aside from Geodude, who is a trade evolution, and Nidoqueen/Nidoking, but I already have a Poison-type in Vileplume, so looks like it worked out for Sandslash. He has pretty good Attack and Defence and a pretty solid moveset, making him a pretty good choice. Earthquake is a great STAB move, X-Scissor covers his grass weakness and gives you a way to hit Psychic-types, Rock Slide gives him a way to hit Flying-types, and Swords Dance allows him to set up to sweep.

Clefable

  • Moonblast (Level 28 as Clefairy)
  • Psychic (TM40 - Saffron City)
  • Flamethrower (TM37 - Silph Co.)
  • Calm Mind (TM33 - Gift from Sabrina)

Clefable is probably the most varied Pokémon in the whole game, and even though it doesn't get Magic Guard, it's overall solid stats and titanic movepool keep it useful. Fairy is also a great typing to have. You could run Clefable a million different ways, this is just the set I use. You can pretty much just change Clefable's moves for each battle so it can participate. Moonblast is your main STAB move, Psychic covers her Poison-type weakness, Flamethrower covers her Steel-type weakness and Calm Mind is for setting up to sweep.

Charizard

  • Flamethrower (TM37 - Silph Co.)
  • Wing Attack (Upon Evolution)
  • Outrage (TM39 - Victory Road) / Dragon Pulse (TM34 - Silph Co.)
  • Earthquake (TM41 - Gift from Giovanni in Viridian City)

While I don't have the best connection with Charizard (I personally think it is really overrated - Venusaur should've gotten two Mega Evolutions), I can't deny that it is really good in battle. The Gift Charmander you get will have really good IVs, making Charizard most likely the best Fire-type available, especially since he can Mega Evolve. I personally couldn't decide on one Mega, I was constantly switching between them, but they play similarly since abilities aren't available, so it didn't really matter. Flamthrower is a good STAB move, Wing Attack is unfortunately the best Flying STAB available (Fly takes two-turns and Air Slash is learnt at Level 62), but it is still pretty good, Outrage is Dragon STAB for the X-Mega, whereas Dragon Pulse is more for extra coverage on the Y-Mega, and Earthquake is for covering their crippling Rock weaknesses. Charizard does have quite a few more moves though, so you can run it multiple different ways.

Starmie

  • Scald (TM29 - Gift from Misty)
  • Psychic (TM40 - Saffron City)
  • Ice Beam (TM55 - Seafoam Islands)
  • Dazzling Gleam (TM32 - Route 12)

Starmie is easily one of the best, if not the best, Water-type available. It has a fantastic movepool, with a lot of it's good TMs already available upon capture, an additional Psychic-type which is great against Team Rocket and great stats that make it very usable in many battles. Scald is your Water STAB and has a good chance to burn, Psychic is your Psychic STAB and also covers their Ghost-weakness, as the Gengar-line are the only Ghost-types in the game (besides Alolan Marowak), Ice Beam covers their Grass-weakness and Dazzling Gleam covers their Dark-weakness.

I really like your team. How do you make the team picture thingy? The team preview picture
I went onto the Pokémon on Serebii, right-clicked on their party icon thingy near their name, chose Copy Image Address used it for the preview.
Okay thanks!

From all I've seen, heard, and researched, this game kind of plays itself in the sense that it is an easy and casual game, so I don't think over-the-top effort or optimal natures are required for an in-game team to work. :P

Bolded moves can only be obtained from a prior Evolution.

Locations of the Pokémon's base form are next to it's name.

Here are the teams I suggest:

Lets Go Pikachu:

Pikachu-Partner (Starter)
Optimal Nature: Naive / Adamant
- Thunderbolt (21) / Zippy Zap (Celadon/Fuchsia Tutor)
- Quick Attack (6) / Floaty Fall (Celadon/Fuchsia Tutor)
- Double Kick (9) / Splishy Splash (Celadon/Fuchsia Tutor)
- Thunder Wave (15)

Splishy Splash covers the Pokémon Poster Child's Ground weakness, while Double Kick is useful when you get to Brock. Thunder Wave can be useful whenever Partnerchu isn't strong enough to Take out the opponent on it's own, and helps slower team members take out threats. Zippy Zap is probably the best STAB priority move in the game, and Floaty Fall abuses Pikachu's boosted Base Speed to make use of a 30% flinch chance and a reliable typing for hitting Grass types.

Venasaur (Chain encounter for Bulbasaur in Vidiran Forest)
Optimal Nature: Modest / Calm
- Leech Seed (9)
- Sleep Powder (14)
- Tackle (1) / Sludge Bomb (TM 52)
- Vine Whip (5) / Petal Dance (Evolving into Venasaur)

Bulbasaur Helps meet the requirement of having a Grass type before Brocks Gym. Venasaur is a great tanky Pokémon with a High Special Attack. It's versatility is backed up with Leech Seed and Sleep Powder to deny the opponent turns and sap their HP. Sludge Bomb hits hard, and Petal Dance is better in-game, as it usually KO's 1 or 2 Pokémon before Venasaur becomes confused. Vine whip is very useful against Brock and Misty, and will do eccentrically against Bruno in the Elite Four. Venasaur becomes even bulkier if you Mega Evolve it.

Fearow (Route 3)
Optimal Nature: Adamant / Jolly
- Drill Peck (32) / Fly (TM 14)
- Drill Run (TM 58/Reminder)
- Roost (24, TM 50) / U-Turn (TM 18)
- Fury Attack (16) / Quick Attack (Reminder) / Toxic (TM 27)

Fearow is fast, gets Fly (if you need it) and Has a great Attack Stat. It gets a variety of moves useful to abusing it's Speed, such as U-Turn, Toxic, and Fly. Fearow can also switch in to Ground Type attacks most of the team is weak to.

Dugtrio (Diglett's Cave, Lavender Town)
Optimal Nature: Jolly / Adamant
- Dig (18, TM 10) / Earthquake (29, TM 41)
- Sucker Punch (25)
- Rock Slide (TM 22) / Toxic (TM 27)
- Slash (21) / Fissure (33, 45)

Dugtrio's Stats are similar to Partner Pikachu's, and Dugtrio is a fine option for Ground STAB. Dugtrio has many ways of abusing it's high Speed Stat, such as Rock Slide, Toxic, and Dig.

Arcanine (Route 5, 6, 7, 8)
Optimal Nature: Hasty / Lonely (Jolly / Adamant may work)
- Flamethrower (17, TM 37) / Heat Wave (24)
- Crunch (28)
- Play Rough (35, TM 44)
- Outrage (31, TM 39) / Will-O-Wisp (TM 11)

Lets abuse the Pikachu version-exclusives Growlithe and Arcanine. It gets average defenses, decent Speed and HP, and Above average Attack and Special Attack. Because of this, it is a great addition to the team as it can attack both Physically and Specially, as well as covering Grass, Dark, Ice, Bug, and Steel type Pokemon better than most of the Team. You could replace Arcanine for Charizard, but that may create conflicting Mega Evolutions, as Charizard can only use Physical Fire type moves effectively as Mega Charizard X. It should also be noted that Growlithe/Arcanine Level Up faster than Charizard.

Tentacruel (Route 4, 10, Seafom Islands, etc.)
Optimal Nature: Calm / Timid / Bold
- Surf (27, TM 47) / Scald (TM 29)
- Barrier (31)
- Wrap (22) / Ice Beam (55)
- Sludge Bomb (TM 52)

Tentacruel is pretty bulky and fast, and deals a fair bit of special damage. It can Trap and Stall with Wrap and Barrier, and hits decently with Sludge Wave and Surf. Scald may Burn and Cripple Physical attackers. One Barrier use brings it's Defense phenomenally high, and considering the lack of status clearing moves, makes it quite dangerous for the NPCs to handle.

Lets Go Eevee:

Eevee-Partner (Starter)
Optimal Nature: Bold / Timid / Modest
- Quick Attack (6) / Glitzy Glow (Celadon/Fuchsia Tutor)
- Double Kick (10) / Bouncy Bubble (Celadon/Fuchsia Tutor)
- Bite (17) / Baddy Bad (Celadon/Fuchsia Tutor)
- Swift (21) / Sparkly Swirl (Celadon/Fuchsia Tutor)

Eevee has average stats overall, but gets amazing Special Moves such as Bouncy Bubble that heals, Glitzy Glow and Baddy Bad that set Light Screen and Reflect respectively, and Sparkly Swirl; the only move that heals party status in the whole game. Eevee is rated the better of the two starters in Lets Go, mainly because the variety of it's exclusive moves is greater than Partner Pikachu. It can be said, however, that Eevee is more defensive, while Pikachu is more offensive.

Victreebel (Route 1, 2, 12, Vidiran Forest, etc.)
Optimal Nature: Impish / Relaxed
- Razor Leaf (22) / Power Whip (54)
- Growth (4) / Swords Dance (Reminder)
- Poison Jab (26, TM 26)
- Leech Life (Reminder) / Sucker Punch (Reminder)

Victreebel is a Lets Go Eevee exclusive. It doesn't have great defenses or Speed, but it'll Level Up fast, has great Attack, and is definitely useful for an In-Game Team. If you wish, you can use the Bulbasaur line instead.

Charizard (Chain encounter for Charmander in Rock Tunnel)
Optimal Nature: Timid / Calm / Naive
- Flamethrower (36, TM 37) / Heat Wave (71, Reminder)
- Dragon Rage (22) / Dragon Pulse (TM 34)
- Air Slash (Reminder) / Roost (TM 19)
- Roost (TM 19) / Dragon Claw (Reminder, TM 2)

Chaizard has a great set of moves and can pull it's own in an in-game team. Use Dragon Rage early on, but loose it when you get Dragon Pulse. Roost boosts Charizard's survive-ability, while Air Slash is for STAB and a flinch chance, and Dragon Claw is excellent coverage to specially defensive Pokémon that may wall Charizard. This set works for Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y, so if you change your mind, you can.

Nidoqueen (Route 9, 10, 22, 23)
Optimal Nature: Adamant / Impish / Careful
- Double Kick (9) / Superpower (55)
- Crunch (24) / Dig (TM 10) / Earthquake (TM 41)
- Toxic (18, TM 6)
- Poison Jab (TM 26)

I chose Nidoqueen over Nidoking simply because Nidoqueen was more bulkier than the extra Attack Nidoking Had. Nidoqueen can be hard to break through and gets many powerful physical moves to help along the way. Double Kick is for beating Brock easily.

Poliwrath (Route 22, 23, 25, Cerulean Cave)
Optimal Nature: Impish / Adamant
- Waterfall (TM 25)
- Low Kick (26) / Super Power (57, TM 49) / Submission (Reminder)
- Earthquake (TM 41)
- Bulk Up (TM 30, Reminder)

Poliwrath is one of few Pokémon that get stat boosting moves. It can take out most threats with or without the boost, and it has great bulk to help it survive hits.

Electrode (Power Plant)
Optimal Nature: Modest / Bold
- Light Screen (3)
- Thunderbolt (31, TM 36)
- Thunder Wave (TM 16) / Reflect (TM 9)
- Foul Play (TM 21) / Toxic (TM 27)

If you haven't already been talked to death about abusing Speed, I am genuinely surprised. Electrode has one of the highest base Speeds in the game, so it doesn't Really need a +Speed nature. It cane be a screen setter, status inflict-er, a counter to Powerful physical attackers, and a decent special . And it'll be the fastest like no one ever was while doing it. :P

Well, that's my take on it.

Hope I helped!

Ok Your answer makes mine look like trash good job really good answer
I like to over-complicate answers and use Markdown/html formatting. Just because my answer looks better doesn't mean your answer is devalued or worse; all of these are meant to be opinions based off of experience, so everything that isn't a troll is valid. :P
Holy Shinx! That is a whole lotta content!
Ok Stakata that makes sense
Das a spicy move set

This team is was very easy to obtain and use. The only version exclusive is Victreebel. I had a fun time playing the game with this team. My team was overleveled by the time I got to the Elite Four. Leave comments or suggestions for move ideas. :p P.S. I don’t like like using legendaries because it takes the challenge away. Nicknames are welcome too! Thanks!

Let’s Go Eevee

Eevee (Candy)

  • Baddy Bad
  • Freezy Frost
  • Glitzy Glow
  • Quick Attack, Double Edge

Charizard
(Blitzkrieg)
- Flamethrower, Fire Blast
- Thunder Punch
- Dragon Pulse
- Fly, Wing Attack

Golduck
(Waddles)
- Hydro Pump, Surf, Waterfall, Scald
- Ice Beam, Blizzard
- Psychic
- Brick Break

Victreebel
(Vinia)
- Mega Drain
- Power Whip
- Toxic
- Poison Jab or Sludge Bomb

Rhydon
(Donny)
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide or Stone Edge
- Megahorn
- Thunderpunch or Ice Punch would be good

Clefable
(Fluffy Girl based off Marriland’s boy Clefable Fluffy Boy in his let’s play! Go check him out!)
- Dazzling Gleam or Moonblast if you’re patient to wait till it gets it at Lv 28 as a Clefairy
- Thunderbolt, Thunder
- Metronome, Psychic
- Sing, Shadowball

Let's Go Pikachu Team. (The Team Im Using) - Please Comment if I messed up anywhere, I kinda rushed this xD

Pikachu-Partner: (Starter in Let's Go Pikachu)
Zippy Zap for Priority
Splishy Splash for ground type coverage, as electric type moves dont effect ground types
Floaty Fall for Grass type coverage, as electric is not very effective
Brick Break for steel types/ Pika Papow for an Always-hitting electric special move

Vileplume: (Oddish can be found in Viridian Forest and most early routes)
Mega Drain for Grass STAB, Health Regen + Mega drain has been boosted to 75BP
Sludge Bomb for Obvious STAB and a chance to poison
Sleep Powder will/can put the opponent to sleep
Dazzling Gleam for some coverage against Steel + Dragon Types

Arcanine: (Growlithe can be found in route 5, route 6, etc) Evolve Growlithe when it learns Flare Blitz (Lvl.38)
Flare Blitz to hit like a truck with a STAB Fire Attack
Outrage for Dragon coverage, Outrage killed basically everything before the confusion kicks in
Crunch for coverage and that nice flinch chance
Play Rough might be a good option too for extra extra coverage

Rhydon: (Rhyhorn can be found in the Rock Tunnel)
Earthquake for Obvious STAB
Rock Slide for the same reason + Flinching
Megahorn hits hard and has coverage
Horn Drill is just the RNG/Filler Move

Starmie: (Staryu/Starmie can both be found on route 18, You'll need the special move Sea Skim)
Scald/Surf are Obvious STAB moves
Psychic is also a great STAB move
Ice Beam covers the grass weakness
Dazzling Gleam/Thunderbolt for Special Coverage.... I used Thunderbolt, but they both work

Hitmonchan: (Choose Hitmonchan in the Fuchsia City Dojo)
Brick Break is Obvious STAB
Bulk Up Allows you to sweep, and this game is easy af, so its no problem to setup and sweep gyms
Thunder Punch/Ice Punch to take on Flying Types
Dizzy Punch for Confusion Chance or TM earthquake for coverage

Hope This Helps, sorry I didn't have time to fill in the ways to get moves, may fix that later :)

by
Love your picks for this team! I didn’t have the courage myself to go with Vileplume, Arcanine and Starmie instead of Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle but I kinda wish I had. Perhaps on my next playthrough.

At one point I actually had Oddish, Growlithe etc. and was levelling them up in parallel but it became a chore to balance the EXP of all of them.

This is a team without the Partner Pokemon, to make it a bit more challenging.

Venusaur
- Petal Dance (Learned upon evolution)
- Sludge Bomb (TM in the Pokemon Mansion)
- Sleep Powder (Level 14)
- Leech Seed (Level 9)

Petal Dance, while it does confuse Venusaur, is solid STAB, as most battles probably won’t last more than three rounds. If they do, just switch out Venusaur. Sludge Bomb is reliable STAB. Sleep Powder and Leech Seed, while you’ll rarely be using them, can be useful to mess with tricky opponents. Venusaur’s moveset is quite shallow – there weren’t a lot of options here.

Lapras
- Surf (Level 45)
- Ice Beam (Level 39)
- Thunderbolt (TM obtained after beating Lt. Surge)
- Psychic (TM obtained from Mr. Psychic in Saffron City)

I really like Lapras in this game. It’s a bit slow, but its relative bulk makes up for that. Surf and Ice Beam are both excellent STAB moves. Psychic covers the plethora of Poison types in the game, and comabts Lapras’ Fighting weakness. Thunderbolt is coverage.

Raichu
- Thunderbolt (TM obtained after beating Lt. Surge)
- Quick Attack (Level 1) / Fake Out (Level 1)
- Brick Break (TM on Route 10)
- Thunder Wave (TM on Route 25)

Thunderbolt is STAB. Brick Break is coverage, and can help deal with Rock/Ground types Raichu can’t take out with Thunderbolt. Quick Attack is a good priority move. Fake Out is an option, as it flinches, but it only works on the first turn Raichu is in battle. Thunder Wave can cripple an opponent if you get lucky, making it worth it in my eyes.

Dodrio
- Quick Attack (Level 5)
- Drill Peck (Level 27)
- Headbutt (TM obtained after beating Brock)
- Jump Kick (Level 48)

I primarily use Dodrio for getting around Kanto quickly, but it can prove its worth in battle. Quick Attack is useful priority. Drill Peck is a decent STAB Flying move. Headbutt is stronger STAB than Quick Attack, and it has a nice chance to flinch. Jump Kick is solid coverage against Rock types.

Dugtrio
- Earthquake (Level 48)
- Headbutt (Level 21)
- Sucker Punch (Level 25)
- Rock Slide (TM in the Pokemon Mansion)

Earthquake is a brilliant STAB move. Headbutt is only decent, but it’s got a nice flinch chance. Sucker Punch is situational, but it’s nice Dark type coverage if you predict correctly. Rock Slide is coverage, with a chance to flinch.

Hitmonchan
- Brick Break (TM found on Route 10)
- Fire Punch (Level 30)
- Ice Punch (Level 30)
- Thunder Punch (Level 30)

This guy’s got a lot of coverage. Brick Break is STAB. Fire Punch, Ice Punch, and Thunder Punch are all coverage moves, each with a nice chance of an added effect.

This is not good. Most of these pokemona re late game, and their tm's are bad. Fly and solar beam are bad of charizard. Air slash and thunder punch will serve you much better.

Iron tail sucks. Don't teach it go pikachu.

Mega drain on alolan much is stupid. It's a special attacker. Toxic stalling is pointless in a playthrough, so replace them with coverage moves.

Sandslash is not a good pokemon. Replace it.

And you only listed five pokemon
They list 6 Pokemon. Just because Sandslash is bad doesn’t mean it is nonviable in an in game team. : P

My team for LGPE is as Follows:

Eevee is my Starter (I SRed only once for a Female.)
This was JUST a Solo Team. I primarily used the myriad of Move Tutor moves it had access to (Buzzy Buzz, Bouncy Bubble, Sizzly Slide, Baddy Bad, Glitzy Glow, Freezy Frost, Sappy Seed, and Sparkly Swirl.)

I also used Double Kick (learned through Level-up.), Dig (TM in Cerulean City), Iron Tail, and Shadow Ball (TMs from Celadon Dept. Store.).

Of course, my plan going through the game was the concept of type coverage.

For Brock: I used my newly acquired Double Kick. (Yes, I did have an Bellsprout in my party to get into the gym.)
For Misty: I used the newly accessed Move Tutor move of Buzzy Buzz.
For Lt. Surge: I utilized my Dig TM.
For Erika: I used both Move Tutor moves of Sizzly Slide AND the newly accessed Glitzy Glow.
For Koga: I used a combo of Dig and Glitzy Glow.
For Sabrina: I used a combo of Shadow Ball and Baddy Bad.
For Blaine: I used Bouncy Bubble mostly.
For Giovanni: I used a combo of Bouncy Bubble, Sappy Seed, AND Freezy Frost.

For Lorelei: I used mainly Buzzy Buzz/Sappy Seed and a little bit of Sizzly Slide.
For Bruno: I used Glitzy Glow/Sparkly Swirl and Bouncy Bubble.
For Agatha: I used Dig and Glitzy Glow.
For Lance: I used Buzzy Buzz/Freezy Frost.

SIDE NOTE: I mostly used Iron Tail against the couple of Fairy-types sprinkled into the game.

This combination of move types allows for FULL type coverage in LGPE.
Normal (for STAB), Fire, Water, Electric, Grass, Ice, Fighting, Ground, Psychic, (Ghost), Dark, Steel, and Fairy

Pikachu sprite from Let's Go Pikachu & Let's Go Eevee
Starter Pikachu

  • Thunderbolt (Lv. 21)
  • Dig (TM- Cerulean City)
  • Floaty Fall (Celadon Move Tutor)
  • Splishy Splash (Fuchsia Move Tutor)

Honestly, movepool wise Eevee is the better starter but, Pikachu has better stat buffs. While Eevee only has a 10-20 stat point buff, Pikachu has a 10 to 30 point stat buff. Pikachu's typing alone supports it more than any extra moves. While all of Eevee's possible move tutored moves are made to cover up for its Normal typing, Pikachu is alone effective against Flying and Water types not requiring it to have as many coverage moves. I didn't add Zippy Zap to this moveset because Pikachu only needs one Electric move and its stat buff from being a starter makes it fast enough to not need priority. Dig can cover Rock, Electric, Poison, Steel, and Fire types while if we even needed priority, Zippy Zap only covers Flying and Water types. Floaty Fall can flinch and Splishy Splash can cover its only weakness Ground types. I think all of this combined shows clearly that if it is used correctly, Pikachu can be a great starter and by extension a great addition to your team.

Starmie sprites gallery | Pokémon Database
Starmie

  • Scald (TM - Cerulean City - Beat Misty)
  • Dazzling Gleam (TM - Route 12 - Mr.Dazzling)
  • Psychic (TM - Saffron City)
  • Ice Beam (TM - Seafoam Islands)

In my opinion, Starmie is better than Lapras for multiple reasons. The first reason is that Starmie has the extra Psychic typing while Lapras is stuck with the Ice typing. Now, do not get me wrong, Ice is not a bad typing but, with Lapras already having the Water typing, the Ice typing becomes less significant, and compared to the Psychic typing on Starmie the Ice typing is even less needed, especially since Starmie can learn Blizzard or Ice Beam to hit for good damage while Lapras cannot learn Psychic or Dazzling Gleam and those are great for Poison, Fighting, Dark, and Dragon types and Ice Beam can hit Grass, Ground, Flying, and Dragon types. Overall, I think Starmie has better coverage moves and a better typing so Starmie wins and Lapras has an L in its name for a reason.

Dugtrio sprites gallery | Pokémon Database
Dugtrio

  • Earthquake (Lv. 35)
  • Sucker Punch (Lv. 25)
  • Rock Slide (TM - Pokemon Mansion)
  • Dig (Lv. 18 or TM - Cerulean City)

Dugtrio is a relatively speedy and strong Pokemon. Dugtrio has the same speed as Starter Pikachu: a base 120 speed and add that on to a base 100 attack and you have the perfect mon for sweeping. It being able to learn Earthquake at such an early level makes it extremely viable. Although your Dugtrio will probably not be level 35 by Lt. Surge's Gym, it is still great for other Pokemon like your rival's Jolteon and Rapidash in the Champion Battle, Koga's and Blaine's Gym's, and other minor trainer battles. Not to mention, it is available earlier than Rhydon which is the only Ground type in my opinion comparable to Dugtrio in any way. Overall Dugtrio is just a great asset to the team and makes the game much easier.

Venusaur sprites gallery | Pokémon Database
Veanusaur @Veanusaurite

  • Earthquake (TM - Viridian City - Beat Giovanni)
  • Toxic (TM - Fuchsia City - Beat Koga )
  • Sludge Bomb (TM - Pokemon Mansion)
  • Mega Drain (TM - Celadon City - Beat Erika)

I went with an all TM moveset because I don't really like any of the level-up moves that Venusaur gets compared to its options when you consider TM's. Earthquake is really great coverage against Fire and if needed can deal damage to Poison and Electric types as well. Toxic is really great for stalling since Veanusaur is a fricking tank and when you Mega Evolve it, you even get Thick Fat which is really overpowered. Sludge Bomb and Mega Drain are amazing stab, taking advantage of Venusaur's 100 base special attack and when evolved 122 base special attack. Mega Drain can heal Venusaur greatly and Sludge Bomb is well: Sludge Bomb. Taking into account what an absolute BEAST this Pokemon is, I bet you have no trouble seeing why I added it to this team.
(Also, Bulbasaur is really hard to find in the Viridian Forest so, be patient it is worth the wait.)

Arcanine sprites gallery | Pokémon Database
Arcanine

  • Flamethrower (Lv. 17 as Growlithe)
  • Play Rough (Lv. 35 as Growlithe)
  • Dig (TM - Cerulean City)
  • Crunch (Lv. 28 as Growlithe)

Arcanine is a great mixed attacker who can One-Hit KO many Pokemon. Most people put Extreme Speed on Arcanine but, I put Dig on Arcanine instead so it can have coverage for Rock types. Now, you really shouldn't use Arcanine against Rock types ANYWAY, but this is only an extra precaution. Crunch can hit Psychic and Ghost types hard. Flamethrower is STAB, and Play Rough is good for Dark, Fighting, and Dragon. Arcanine also has decent defenses, a base 80 in both for a non psuedo legendary Fire type makes it pretty good. Overall, Arcanine is a hard hitter and completes the Fire, Water, Grass trio needed for any good team.

Scyther sprites gallery | Pokémon Database
Scyther

  • X-Scissor (Lv. 50)
  • Air Slash (Lv. 38)
  • Brick Break (TM - Route 10)
  • Roost (TM - Route 12)

Scyther is a great version exclusive, and makes for an awesome physical attacker, as another Pokemon with a high speed stat, this team is clearly one that can outspeed most others. There really isn't much to say about Scyther except for the fact that it'll kick booty if it needs to.

There is the team! Hope you find it good and use it well, if you have or have to get Let's Go Eevee just use Ninetales instead of Arcanine. Pinsir instead of Scyther (That way you can have another Mega.) Here are some movesets.

Pinsir sprites gallery | Pokémon Database
Pinsir @Pinsirite

  • X-Scissor ( Lv.12 or TM - Route 12)
  • Brick Break (Lv.16 or TM - Route 10)
  • Rock Slide (TM - Pokemon Mansion)
  • Earthquake (TM - Viridian City - Beat Giovanni)

Ninetales sprites gallery | Pokémon Database
Ninetales

  • Flamethrower/Fire Blast (Lv.24 or Lv.31 as Vulpix)
  • Calm Mind (TM - Saffron City - Beat Sabrina)
  • Dark Pulse (TM - Rocket Hideout)
  • Solar Beam (TM - Victory Road)
