Did the anime make a mistake again?

Question

How come in episode 34 of Pokémon XY season 1 there is a wild Conkeldurr and a wild Machamp, despite the fact that you have to evolve them through trade? And please don't tell me they were released into the wild, because I already considered that before asking. So is there any other way that that's possible?

In general, the anime is pretty lax on following these kind of rules that are present in the games.

The Pokemon anime does not exactly follow the logic of the games so that is probably the reason.
