Why was my Sylveon paralyzed by Static when it used Trump Card?

Question

Besides the title, I was battling a level 60 Stunfisk with my level 52 Sylveon. When I used the move Trump Card, it Paralyzed my Sylveon. After that, I checked what category it is, and it shows that it is a special attack. Am I seeing what I'm not seeing, or is this just a trigger glitch? Please help me.

There is a 30% chance for a Pokemon attacking another Pokemon with Static to be paralyzed if the move they use makes contact. Whether a move is physical or special has nothing to do with whether it makes contact or not. Trump Card, despite being a special move, makes contact.

Like Draining Kiss makes contact despite being special and earthquake not making contact despite being physical. Also trump card and static SUCK!
