Why is BW2 not a remake of Pokémon Black and White?

People say that Pokémon Black and White doesn't have a remake. But I always thought it that Black and White 2 were remakes of Pokémon Black and White.
Does someone know why they aren't considered remakes?

The are a couple of reasons why it isn't a remake. One is because it's a sequel to Black and White and the story continues on from the originals like how Gold and Silver had a story that showed what happened after Team Rocket ended. The other reason is that when a game is remade, the graphics are better and the game is put on a newer system, such as the 3DS.
