Well, I want to get a Nidoking in Pokèmon Sun (Of a old game) and use it. However I’m not to sure how good Nidoking is realisticly for my (usually) long, hard fought battles... I want to use him but I don’t know if I should

What do you want to use it for? Is it just for completing the storyline? Is it for the Battle Tree? Do you want to use it to battle other people?
Battle royals and battle tree, Why?

Like the Danzos person said, Nidoking certainly is viable. However, just because something is viable doesn't mean it's the best. In most cases, Nidoking is outclassed by mega Gengar, which has better special attack and speed and not very much worse of a movepool. Since you're climbing the Battle Tree, I would recommend this set.

Gengar @ gengarite
Ability: cursed body
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid nature
- shadow ball
- sludge bomb
- perish song
- substitute

Okay, I’ve been been waiting to use a Gengar. Thanks!

Nidoking can be an absolute monster if you use it right. all though it lacks speed it makes up for in its diverse movepool. nidoking is viable in a range of tiers such as monotype, OU and UU, all though its sitting in UU at the moment it can be used as a OU meta check, nidoking is better with a special set, all though its atk is higher its special movepool is outstanding with moves such as t-bolt, ice beam, sludge wave, earth power , fire blast t thrower, shadow ball, focus blast and surf. nidoking can even be a hazard setter thanks to stealth rocks and t spikes. nidokings ability sheer force just complements its special movepool combined with life orb it can have high coverage and decent damage output. however its speed is not so great, you can use scarf if you want so you can outspeed lando, gren , non sg magearna non dd zygarde and many other things that threaten it. however with using scarf your damage output wont be as good without life orb but what does that do to 4x weaknesses plus STAB.
for OU I would go with this set:

Nidoking @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Earth Power
- Sludge Wave
- Ice Beam
- Substitute
source- smogon.com (more info on the set here http://www.smogon.com/dex/sm/pokemon/nidoking/ plus uu sets and monotype sets)

hope this helps and you didn't mean in game! XD

Since the question is tagged as being for an in-game team I think it can be assumed this isn't for competitive. But competitive is so transferable to in-game with offensive Pokemon, I don't think it actually matters. Good analysis regardless.
I don't think this applies to in-game because it's not worth the person's time to try to get a sheer force Nidoking.
Sheer Force also matters a lot less in-game. The asker will have to transfer to get Nidoking into their game anyway, so they're not uncommitted to spending time on it.
Nidoking can get killed by anything that has earthquake
A lot of Pokemon can 'get killed' by anything that has Earthquake. It's called a weakness, and most Pokemon have one. It doesn't make it bad, if that's what you're trying to say.
