Pokemon Yellow glitch???

Question

So I fought a bug catcher in the grass in Viridian forest but at the same time encountered a wild Pokemon. my pikachu fainted (really low health, forgot potion) Restarted at Pokemon center and entered the forest. Upon entrance battled bug catcher. lv.10 caterpie won the battle. After that my 2ds started making Pokemon cries, didn't stop until exited forest. Wondering how it happened and why?

P.S. I was playing Pokemon yellow.

You fought the Bug Catcher upon reentering the forest because when encountering the wild Pokemon, the game thought you were in two battles at once- one with the Wild Pokemon and one with the Bug Catcher. However, you were only truly battling the Wild Pokemon, and when you lost, the game thought you were still in a battle with the Bug Catcher, so the Bug Catcher battled you when you went in Viridian Forest. The cries thing is just a small side effect, I think.

Yes, this is definitely a glitch, I'm not sure why it happened. I've seen this glitch done multiple times to do some other big glitch, I think it was level 100 Pokemon before Brock or something.

It's small glitch that occurs, and enables you; if done right to get a lvl100 Gengar before any gym battles.
