Nuzlocke and the Great Marsh?

I'm at the Great Marsh in my Platinum Nuzlocke, and I have a dilemma. If I were to go to the balcony and look out the binoculars and see a Pokémon, does that count as the Pokémon I have to catch for the Great Marsh? Because I sure would like to nail that Drapion…

I had that problem to so I decided that Safari Zones  like the Great Marsh don't count.

No, because you have not encountered it in battle. You can look through the telescope all you want, but as soon as a battle occurs, that's your encounter to catch (making account for dupes/ shiny clause etc.).

You could get a new encounter every area as well, but that's up to you how you want to handle that.
