Where is Steven after the Delta episode?

Question

You get a letter and a Beldum when you visit his house, and I know you see him when you go through the E4 again, but do you see him apart from battling him at the league?

It just seemed a bit of a 'weh' ending when he accompanied you throughout most of the game and the demo.

He's still in the champion room.
Same as Ruby and Sapphire.
He stays at the league. The trademarked Delta Emerald so it is a possibility he will show up in that one.

Actually after the Delta Episode he's not the Champion anymore, the player is. While it is true that he stays at the Pokémon League, he is no longer Champion, as he says to the player on the first rematch "Welcome, Champion. Let me test my skills against you once again!".
