If I breed 2 different Pokemon species, which species will the egg be?

I bred Chikorita and Tangela, and I got an egg. But which species will the egg be? Chikorita was the male and Tangela was the female.

The Female always passes down the species

Egg moves come from the father, whereas the mother always passes down the species

The exception is with Ditto, the other Pokemon than ditto always passes down the species

The female always passes down the species, so it would be Tangela. The only exception to this is with Ditto breeding, where Ditto's partner always passes down the species.
