What came first, the anime, the trading cards, or the game?

Question

in the first episode of the anime, it showed the opening credits of Pokemon red, so does that mean the games came first? I don't know...

This is kind of a tricky question. The GAME was released first above all, and then the trading cards, but that was only in Japan. Pokemon never reached the US until 1996, where BOTH the GAME and the CARTOON were released at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Atlanta.

I guess the game comes first :D

The games came first in early 1996
Then the trading cards in late 1996
Then the manga a month after the cards
Then the anime in early 1997.
This is all in Japan at least. The anime came to America first
