Is Synchronize different in X & Y?

I have a Ralts with Synchronize. I thought this ability could still paralyse Electric types, but I've been paralysed by Pikachu's Static and plusle/minun's Thunder Wave, and Synchronise failed each time. Is this a glitch, or has this ability been modified to stop paralysing Electric types now?

Generation VI battle mechanics have been modified; Electric types are now immune to paralysis, just like how Poison types are immune to toxic, and Fire types immune to burn. Synchronise doesn't affect those types and their specific status immunities.

To status ailments? The ones I just listed. Ground types can still be paralyed, just not by T-Wave.
