My DS says that the access point's security settings are not supported by nintendo ds?

It also says to got to nintendowifi.com for help, but that's what I've been doing for the past half hour

If it says that for your regular internet settings, go into "advanced", and the list of available/ potential wifi points should include the wifi you want to use.

I haven't used a DS lite before, but DSi and 3DS both have it. Go to your settings on your main menu, then go to internet, and there should be the advanced options.
