What is with this? Cranky Nurses?

I have recently gotten White 2 and am traversing through White Treehollow. It seems the farther I go down, the more unwilling the Nurse seems to be. It just struck me as odd that Nurse Joy is reluctant to heal your Pokemon and only does it because she has to. Why are the nurses cranky? Is there a specific reason?

It is most likely because it is everyone's aim to get to the top of The White Treehollow/Black Tower and the higher you get in it, the more annoying it becomes seeing as you need to restart the challenge when you lose. So I suppose it is just very annoying for them anytime they get beaten, however since they are nurses, they will still heal your Pokemon
