What is the meaning of the Pokemon's cry sometime I heared after I stopped walking?

Sometimes. In some route (With some grasses) after I stopped walking for a while. Sometimes, I hear some Pokemon cries. Example: After 2 minutes I stopped walking in some route I hear some tailow's cry. But, I don't know what it means. please explain it to me!

I remember I heard that once on my Emerald. I thought I was going Pokemon crazy and I stopped playing the game for a week. O_O

If you hear the cry of a Pokemon in an area, it basically means you can find that Pokemon in the area you are in. It doesn't mean much more than that.
