Why do these Pokemon sound the same?

in D/P/P Machop and omanyte almost have the same cry....why

The Pokemon cries in the game are really just a handful of sounds being recycled. It's not surprising that there are some that sound the same. A similair question to this was asked a while ago...
And that was basically the answer.
