It's really fine that they aren't putting all the Pokemon into Sword and Shield. After all, GF can't indefinitely put all Pokemon into each future game. Better handle the disappointment now rather than a shock many years later, right? Also, the game looks promising now, unlike the low expectations earlier :)

Self explanatory really. It was mostly hyperbole and done in the chat room, but it's not necessary nor appropriate on a Pokemon site.

That's true... I've still got my fingers crossed though. I personally don't believe their game balance excuse at all -- when have they ever paid attention to that? I think the signs are telling that it was simply too much work to put in before the release date -- and they knew this would be a recurring problem in new Pokemon games from this point onward, hence Dexit becomes a 'change in direction', not a one-off.
It's certainly more charitable than saying, 'sorry, the higher-ups gave us a deadline we can't meet'.

Also you know that usually you can't get national Pokedex Pokemon before defeating the champion, right? If you can't use them for defeating the champion or for competitive battles, then why not remove the national Pokedex?
