When should we battle?

And yeah, Reshiram has a subtle shiny, so I'd probably be a bit careful, too. Although, I've noticed that when my hunts last for a really long time, the shiny really pops out, even for shinies that barely change at all. Personally, I'd still feel comfortable hunting while doing something else, but if you're *really* worried about missing it, then that's fine, too.
Also, I forgot to mention this before, but since you're hunting a legendary, if you haven't already, do a few test captures on non-shinies just to make sure that you can catch it once you find it. There's nothing worse than finding it, only to end up getting swept by it before it stays in the ball. Unless you plan to just use your Master Ball.

The first thing I always respond to this question is to hunt while doing something else; hunting and watching something makes a particularly good combo. But I believe I’ve given you this advice before, so I’ll try being a bit more creative.
Another trick I’ve found is to take a break from a hunt (especially if it’s full odds, like what you’re doing). Usually I’ll just take a break from that big hunt and then do some smaller hunts with better odds (like SOS), which I can knock out on a few hours for a quick morale boost. However, Reshiram in USUM is a bit tricky since if you leave that spot, you’ll have to go through the trouble of finding the wormhole again to continue the hunt. So if you don’t have another game that you can do a high-odds hunt on, it’s also perfectly fine to just take a break from shinyhunting in general for a bit if you want. However, as a master procrastinator, I must warn you that if you do this, it can be a bit tricky convincing yourself to get back to the full odds hunt once you take a break from it, so keep that in mind if you also tend to procrastinate.

Then there’s the old tried-and-true method of just telling yourself “if I give up now, all those resets were for nothing!” Actually, that might make you more insane during the hunt, but at least it’ll convince you to keep pushing on.
