What happens to your previous save file if you start a new game and beat the game?

I was playing Pokemon Black in a new game and i was thinking what if a beat the game would my previous save file go away. So please answer my question

When you "beat the game" (the elite 4), you are forced to save, but if you have a previous file and didn't delete it, it will not save.

Pokemon games are capable of storing one game at a time, and the saving function always overwrites previous data. So if you restarted your game and saved, then that file will be erased and overwritten.
So, if you were playing a new file on Pokemon Black and beat the game, "which will require saving", yes, it would go away.

this is wrong! the game wouldn't save another file or overwrite the old one. this NEW file would not be able to save therefore he would lose everything in the new game.
