I just found out about this event, and I'm not anywhere near a Nintendo Wi-fi connection, so I was just wondering.....

The event Pokemon have specific IDs (and sometimes ribbons) for a reason: so that the game will recognize the "special" Pokemon, and trigger special functions.

I'm sure the weird obtaining location, OT, ID, or perhaps a ribbon would be the only things to trigger the fabled Spiky-Eared Pichu.

So sadly, based on my knowledge of coding, I'd have to say no.

Aw that stinks. Well it was worth asking I guess. Thatnks for the help. =)
Not a problem! =D
Question: If you name yourself the same name as the OT, and keep soft-resetting till you get that specific ID, would you be able to do this?

Many exclusive in-game events check the Pokemon for a "fateful encounter" flag. This flag is independent of other values (such as OT, ID, ribbons, etc.) and cannot be reproduced outside of event distributions by any legitimate means. This mechanism applies to the Spiky-Eared Pichu encounter.

There are no other ways to obtain a Shiny Pichu (or any Pichu) with a fateful encounter flag outside of the designated Pikachu-colored Pichu event distributions. Without one, the Spiky-Eared Pichu is impossible to obtain.
