What is the difference between a Red Card and an Eject Button?

In White, the descriptions only say this:
Red Card: A card with mysterious power. When the holder is struck by a foe, the attacker is removed from battle.
Eject Button: If the holder is hit by an attack, it will switch with another Pokemon in your party.

Also, I'm curious... Is there any strategy including one of these items?

Red Card: The pokemon who attacked the pokemon holding a Red Card is switched out, Ex. A Eevee uses Quick Attack on a Oshawott holding an Red Card, the Eevee will be switch out with someone else in the team.

Eject Button:The holder is switched out when attacked, Ex. A Eevee use Quick Attack on a Oshawott holding a Eject Button, the Oshawott is switched with someone else on its team.

Golem (F) @ Red Card(Josh's Set)

Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Atk / 96 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Fire Punch
- Earthquake
- Explosion

To update that set, 252 HP / 96 SDef would probably be better, lol.
