i got an egg from a pokemon ranger and have no clue what type it is and have had it for 3 days when will it hatch

It's a Larvesta, evolves into Volcorona, will take 10420 steps to hatch.

this is the only one; you can catch volcorona later in relic castle, but this is only larvesta besides trading. And walking steps :)

You're thinking of that ranger guy on Iron Island in Sinnoh. A ranger on route 17, he could be on route 18, gives you an egg that will eventually hatch into a Larvesta.
