Can you use the sacred ash during a battle?

Since Sacred Ash cannot be used in battle (unlike Max Revive), its net
effect can be achieved by applying at most 5 Revives followed by at
most 6 Hyper/Max Potions, and so it is worth at most 22500 in terms of
utility alone.
