Is Protect a good strategy for beating Slaking?

Using Lucario and have him use Protect then Aura Sphere then Protect and so on.

As long as you use protect when he attacks then yes it is a great strategy.

However what might be a better combo/move-set would be to use Lucario with protect and focus punch because his base Attack and Special Attack are close enough that using focus punch would be a faster KO.
