This the set I use in gen V

image

Abomasnow @ Leftovers
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 128 Def / 252 SpA / 128 SpD
Modest Nature
- Blizzard
- Giga Drain
- Leech Seed
- Water Pulse

  • Blizzard(MASSIVE STAB 100% acc thanks to ability)
  • Giga-drain(75 base power in this gen STAB and healing)
  • Leech-seed(Stalling with hail and L-seed)
  • Water-pulse(Covers fire types....if they are really slow)

Water pulse you have to tm then transfer or use PO

These EV's aren't possible. I mean if you have 252 Sp.Atk and 129 def or Sp.Def, you are left with 127, not 129. Good moveset though!
252 + 129 + 129 = 510 which is exactly the maximum amount of legal EVs. But competitive Pokemon is played with all levels set at either 100 or 50, which means the last two EVs don't come into play (and why EV spreads generally only amount to 508 out of 510). I removed them to to alleviate further confusion.

Hail Team Lead

Abomasnow @ Leftovers
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 HP / 132 Atk / 126 SpA
Lonely Nature
- Leech Seed
- Blizzard
- Ice Shard
- Protect / Wood Hammer

Okay, lets get straight to the point, Abomasnow is a very fragile Pokemon and can be easily KO'ed with a 4x Fire weakness. Abomasnow will have to do its best to do whatever it can before getting KO'ed unless you want to save him for later, switch after doing what you can. Leech Seed is there to annoy others while gaining HP back from possible Wood Hammer damage. Blizzard is a must have, with itself activating Hail, to create a 100% accuracy STAB Blizzard in someones face! Ice Shard is useful for the last turn enemies, and who doesn't love priority? You can switch between Protect to stall one turn for Leftys to heal you, and one turn of Hail damage to your opponent, or Wood Hammer for a STAB attack that packs good power.

Abomasnow @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Snow Warning
252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Lonely Nature
- Blizzard
- Ice Shard
- Wood Hammer
- Earthquake / Brick Break

Blizzard is your stab and though your offence is not focused on SAtk it will still do a decent amount with 180 base power after stab.
Ice Shard is priority and will help you avoid a Fire Blast from a Scarfed Salamance and will let you finish off frail Pokemon such as Dugtrio and Alakazam.
Wood Hammer is powerfull stab.
Earthqukae is recomended over Brick break as it provides so much more coverage for Abomasnow at least.

I know a few will agree this is the best Abomasnow set out there at least for sweeping.

Well, it's been snowing all day, so why not make a set for the Frost Tree Pokemon? :P

Gen 8 (SwSh)

Abomasnow @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Blizzard

Special Tank Abomasnow

Abomasnow @ Leftovers / Big Root / Life Orb
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 Def / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
- Blizzard
- Giga Drain / Energy Ball
- Leech Seed
- Hidden Power [Ground]

  • Blizzard- High power, STAB, and works great with Snow Warning
  • Giga Drain/Energy Ball- your second STAB move, I prefer giga drain being that this moveset is a special tank but if you want a little more power there is always energy ball
  • Leech Seed- lowers your opponents' HP while healing yours and works great with hail on the field
  • HP Ground- coverage and takes out 4 of Abomasnow's weaknesses

Doubles and Triples

Abomasnow @ Leftovers
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Atk / 128 SpA
Brave Nature
- Blizzard
- Rock Slide
- Bulldoze
- Leech Seed

Blizzard is a multi-Pokemon hit move and it is STAB and is thus very useful for Doubles and Triples. Rock-slide is coverage and can hit multiple Pokemon at once. Bulldoze hits all Pokemon on the field so be careful who is your partner, it is there instead of Earthquake in order to cripple Sweepers. Leech-seed is also crippling because even if Abomasnow is taken down the Pokemon that replaces him will be healed.

Special Tank Abomasnow
enter image description here enter image description hereenter image description here
Abomasnow @ Leftovers / Abomasite
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 164 HP / 4 Def / 100 SpA / 244 SpD
Calm Nature
- Light Screen
- Substitute
- Blizzard
- Leech Seed

Light Screen is for walling a lot of special attackers, Substitute is obvious. Blizzard is with 100% Accuracy in the hail and a powerful and reliable move, while Leech Seed is for healing.

Abomasnow-Mega @ Abomasite
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 104 Def / 172 SpA / 104 SpD / 128 Spe
Modest Nature
- Double Team
- Blizzard
- Giga Drain
- Synthesis

Use this as a special attacker, Bulky yet full of power- with Double Team (a nice addition), you can gain evasiveness to not take a hit, while using blizzard (Snow Warning! YAY!) or Giga Drain.

Abomasnow @ Leftovers
Ability: Snow Body
EVs: 128 Def / 252 SpA / 128 SpD
Modest Nature
- Blizzard
- Giga Drain
- Leech Seed
- Hidden Power [Rock]

Explanation: Blizzard abuses Abomasnow's ability and guarantees that it will never miss, with a high STAB as well despite low PP. Giga Drain is also STAB and helps to recover HP for the otherwise fragile Abomasnow. Leech Seed is also to recover HP and make it last longer. HP (Rock) covers Fire and Bug types, both of which are Abomasnow's weaknesses. I prefer Special moves for this Abomasnow and hence the EV spread to give it higher power and last longer, and that way your nature doesn't have to shortchange on Defense since Abomasnow isn't a mixed attacker.

Gen 8 NU
Abomasnow
Abomasnow @ Leftovers
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Earthquake
- Seed Bomb
- Ice Shard
- Swords Dance

For use in Trick Room. Earthquake hits fire and steel types. Seed Bomb is STAB. Ice Shard is also STAB. Swords Dance boosts your attack stat. I chose Ice Shard over a stronger move like Ice Punch because you might be in a scenario where you use Swords Dance more than once and Trick Room runs out.

Ice share?
you might want focus sash for fire types so you can set up swords dance and then e-quake. maybe one e-quake without swords dance isn't enough, and abomasnow will get OHKOed

I’m not a competitive player, but I came up with this moveset for the story mode and I think it could work competitively.

Abomasnow @ Leftovers
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 Atk / 128 Def / 128 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Aurora Veil
- Stomping Tantrum
- Sheer Cold
- Ice Punch / Icicle Spear

Adamant is the best nature for the moveset because it doesn’t use special moves, so Atk is important but SpAtk is useless. Def and SpDef are also useful, since Abomasnow has more weaknesses than any other Pokémon.
Ideally, you would start with Aurora Veil. It only works in hail, which Snow Warning generates. Its defensive power makes up for the whole more-weaknesses-than-any-other-Pokémon thing.
Stomping Tantrum is Ground-type, so it covers most types Abomasnow is weak to, including its double-weakness, Fire. It has 75 base power, but it increases to a whopping 150 if the move is used after a failed move.
Sheer Cold is an OHKO move, which means it fails a lot. Alternating between Sheer Cold and Stomping Tantrum is a fairly effective strategy, especially with an Aurora Veil in place. (If Sheer Cold runs out of PP and the hail stops, you can always use Aurora Veil, which always fails outside of hail. That sentence had many rhymes.)
For the last move, go for Ice Punch or Icicle Spear. They’re both physical (benefit from Atk) and Ice-type (covers Flying-types, who are immune to Ground). Ice Punch can freeze and Icicle Spear deals high damage if it hits 4 or 5 times, so pick whichever you prefer.
This moveset also works for the story mode, especially since it only uses natural and TM moves.

Sheer Cold may miss, but it never FAILS, per se. Plus why would you waste a move anyway when a fire-type could just easily knock you out in one turn? Stomping Tantrum is already hitting pretty hard on the opposing fire-types. Plus no Grass type moves? No other coverage? In my opinion, I think that this moveset needs a lot of work. I'm sorry if I'm hurting your feelings, but I think you could edit this

Abomasnow @ Choice Specs / Life Orb
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Blizzard
- Giga Drain
- Earth Power
- Shadow Ball

Special Trick Room sweeper. Specs and Life Orb boost all moves. Blizzard is STAB never misses in Hail, which you can set up, and Giga Drain is STAB healing (which also heals LO damage). Other moves are coverage.

Have fun using this set, hope I helped! :D

Gen 8 ZU

Abomasnow @ Choice Specs
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Blizzard
- Leaf Storm
- Giga Drain / Focus Blast
- Earth Power

With the unbanning of Snow Warning from NU, Snow Warning is now useable in ZU, meaning Abomasnow has potential in ZU now. Here is a Choice Specs set. Blizzard is a powerful ice STAB that doesn't miss in hail. Leaf Storm is powerful grass STAB that deals with water types who resist Blizzard. Giga Drain is for an accurate grass STAB that is useful endgame, while Focus Blast can be used to hit steel types hard. Earth Power provides coverage against fire and steel types.

Gen 9 NU Snow Setter

Abomasnow @ Icy Rock
Ability: Snow Warning
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 248 HP / 164 SpA / 96 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Aurora Veil
- Blizzard
- Giga Drain
- Earth Power

Abomasnow was one of the few Pokemon who dropped to Gen 9 NU, so here is a Snow setter for it. Aurora Veil is used to setup essentially Light Screen and Reflect in one move that halves the damage taken, which supports Abomasnow's teammates. Blizzard is used for a powerful Ice STAB that doesn't miss in snow. Giga Drain is for a Grass STAB that allows Abomasnow to recover some HP. Earth Power provides coverage against Steel- and Fire-types such as Copperajah, Crocalor, Perrserker, and Magneton.

Icy Rock is used to extend the turns of Snow, as this set should be used on Snow teams. 248 HP EVs allow Abomasnow to live a Close Combat from Passimian while Snow is up and Abomasnow is at full HP. 96 Speed EVs allow Abomasnow to outspeed Sandaconda that aren't using any Speed EVs. The rest of the EVs are used in Special Attack along with a Modest Nature to give Abomasnow's attacks more power. Tera Water is used to turn Abomasnow's 4x Fire weakness into a resistance.
