on the alakakazam moveset page it says "energy ball:coverage" i checked and no its not so why is it put as coverage?
EDIT:also i saw that shadow ball is coverage for jolteon.

It is coverage because it gets super effective against some Pokemon that the other types don't. You can check in our type coverage checker.

Most of the movesets list Psychic, Shadow Ball and Focus Blast - those three types cover 349 Pokemon super-effectively. If you add Grass that goes up to 430, that's 81 extra Pokemon you can gain super effective against.

By coverage, they could mean to get moves that their other attacks don't hit as hard, not nessicarily what they are weak to.

If you comment on the answer that says that energy ball is for coverage the person who answered it will tell you what there reasoning is or if they mistyped.

Coverage doesn't necessarily mean that the attack covers its weaknesses, it just means that the attack covers more types along with the other attack. See PM's answer for more.
