Delcatty strategy- will this work?

Ok, now I am quite rusty, so sorry for not knowing items and moves

Ok start off with a pokemon using sunny day

Then switch to Delcatty with normalize and a item that increases normal moves

then(hopefully) go to town with solar beam(until sunny day runs out or run out of pp)

Yes, it would work.

Sunny day will be effective for 5 turns, without the heatrock added into the mix. Then if you switch for Delcatty, or any pokemon with Solar Beam, the Sunny Day+Solar Beam combo will be in affect. Thus, using Solar Beam to your heart's content.
